nice stuff man, i like the contrast there in some of those, maybe the white patch is a bit too strong in the lion one, but good stuff nonetheless. i also like the latest faces, interesting and uniqu..but i think your hands need some work, especially in the chick up the top- her fingers kinda look the same size and it looks a bit off structurally, its a really hard arrangement of the hands to draw though, i can say for experience it never ends too well for me but yeah just try go that extra effort with reference (mirror) or something!

    Rodrigo!Hey man!

Thanks for very good comments and crits. The Gepard page is somewhat "wip" i intended to fill the space up, but decided otherwise You are right about the arms, they are the bane of me. I really need to do studies on hands. I think i'll crank some up tomorrow and post them saturday. I tend to underapriciate the gestural value of the hands, this needs to change.

Thank you very much for the stars, it means a lot to me.

I did this today, tried to use hatching to build values instead of smudging. It came out ok, but i had to rush it because of an apointment. The design is really bad, but i kinda like parts of it. the tube thingy is not one of them.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...inkfish115.jpg This one's my favorite of the recent stuff. It looks...oddly happy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...inkfish121.jpg is a little weird...arms too straight, head too big, that kinda thing. Cool hairstyle though, and nice job on the face.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...inkfish117.jpg I'd love to see this one finished. If you do it, though, pay attention to the upper arm, which seems rather long.

awesome stuff lately! i´m loving your pencils!
only crit on that last one would be that her face looks too manly. the cheekbones are too accentuated (hmm, dont know how to spell that).
and her eyes a bit small, and a not so visable upper lip.
make her more girlish and it´ll be great!

max1975 Hey there man! Thanks for the feedback. The happy creature was a lucky accident, i like the way it turned out too As for the girls i think i'll try to finnish them as soon as i get the chance, the furry coat girl atleast. The manly woman's design is kinda lame so i think i'll leave it be.

Flaskpost Thanks for the comments dude, and thanks for looking

Here are some things that i managed to put to paper. Some are studies most are crap

    nice work man,
tho im seeing a few distortions with the eyes be sure to capture the symmetry if you can, even in 3/4 view
i think its just from finishing too quickly and not spending enough time on construction
    hope that helps,
    keep posting!

    Great drawings, nice style.
I think that the proportions in Bachus are a litte of, his legs are too narrow and short for his upper body. But I think you've got the posture and position nailed!

    Hey - great drawings, inkfish.

It's evident you put a lot of thought into your drawing. On Bachus - Arco's right. Also his shoulders are a bit too broad - either give his hips more body or correct his torso. That third drawing's makin me think of wes9k, and the arrow on his head looks like Andrew Jones.

Great job - love you style too.
Keep at it and post more soon.

    - d.

i think you should go for a more dynamic movement in batman- give the waist a twist by turning it to face us more, and yuo could have the far arm going backwards, so that his fist is held about level with his face or so
hope that helps , do you read any comics? theyre full of a lot of cool dynamic poses a lot of the time

Rodrigo! Hey man! thanks for the crits much apriciated. I've been also thinking about ditching the colours altogether, they seen yucky to my eyes. Tried to rotate the lowerbody like you said, without much luck. I guess i have lot to learn about dynamics in pictures. I haven't red that many comics lately, although i just bought Mythology of Alex Ross. Man that dude is genious

about the crits you posted earlier, i got chewed by my teacher about the same things. I also got a speech about how to place my drawings so they fit in the pages, some serious laziness on my part. Man that was embarassing

demented Hey man, thanks for stopping by! You are right about the waist shoulder portion. I try to update as soon as i have something worthwile to post, keep checking

ArcoNL The Bacchus crit is dead on, i knew there was something wrong, but couldn't quite put my finger on it. Thanks for the heads up, i'll check it out And thanks for the compliments

Here are some digitals i did today. It was fun to just doodle something and let the picture take me where it wants to go. If you can tell what theese represent i'll give you a coockie

    i don't know...

did some work on the batman picture.

Sheesh, even more creepy alien faces! You're quite good with those.

A thing to remember on the batman pic, the contrast should almost always be higher than you think. It's really easy to make stuff low contrast when you've been looking at it for a while. I almost always have to bump up the contrast and repaint some parts on my stuff.

Batman is awesome. Something's bothering me about his lips though...mostly the upper lip...too, I dunno, feminine? Not exactly. Too sharp? *shrug* something's bothering me about his lips Really nice work on the whole though. Like the grayscale better than the color.

batman looking cool so far, altho its early days id suggest making sure that far leg is right, make sure you put more priority to the legs and waist coz its where all his weight is ( the arm of the dude is secondary to that)
check out jim lee's stuff on batman, he did a kickass series called 'hush', u can find the batman stuff on his msn groups website...

Rodrigo! Thanks for the crits man, i'll be sure to check out the things you mentioned.

Flaskpost Thanks man the batman piece is still very wip, have to work on it a lot.

max1975 Hey man! thanks for the heads up on the lips. I'll have to reference some manly lips for him

staylor Thanks for the kind words. The contrast issue is something i'm struggling with. I always worry about muddying up the picture, so i'm kinda shy with contrast on my colout pieces. That's something that has to change...

    doodles from today

looking forward on seeing that batman finnished then.

great "doodles" man! looking awesome. really fine skin tones on that face. but the his left eye seem to be a bit miss-placed to the left, i think it should be be closer to the nose.

keep up the awesome work my northern friend!

Great stuff, the imaginative stuff is very nice.

I think you could benefit from more life drawing (and so could I : P ) especially people.

I really the latest batch of digitial paintings, batman in particular (the contrast is doing much better too). Some of the pencils look rushed, but maybe that was intended. Watch out on the bodies though, in some of the pencils they're awfully small for the heads.

i like the digital stuff , improvements there i think. however in the eyes of your faces i feel they are coming a bit flat, maybe you could do some long eye studies from life or from a photo or something, i know it really helped me.
    cheers man!

    Hey guys!

Sorry for not updating so much lately, i've had some hectic times lately, mainly because my landlord kicked me out of my studio apartment, and i have had to look for a new house. Also i was in Amsterdam for a week. Man that city kicks serious ass! Rijks museum and red lights for the win

    on to the comments

rodrigo! Thanks for the heads up! i've always had some problems with eyes and hands, i guess i'll have to do bunch of studies like you said.

staylorhey! thanks for the kind words! the excuse why the heads are so small is that they are supposed to be sketches of children to a project. No doubt i have another "project" next week

    sanya Thanks!

blog haha thanks man, i'm a huge fan

    Here are the pictures:

I really like the demon (then again I'm rather partial to them). The inks are pretty good too.

Kids are really hard though. I can't do them myself so I've got no advice. It's good that you're drawing them though.

    Hey,

very nice sketchbook here inkfish. Lots of different things going on and i really enjoying looking at it. Your pencil drawings are very fluid. You digis are very realistic, keep that up and you would get even better! How about some traditional stuff!
