I've just bought tickets for the May 1st Boozer Doodle. Anyone wanting VIP tickets had better jump on them before they disappear. I seem to recall there only being maybe 5-6 tables that appeared reserved for VIP. Let's do all-VIP, all-CATL on the front row!

I will have my vengeance, in this Boozer Doodle, or the next...

edit: See how the camera reveals my unholy eyes as they truly are?

Does anyone have experience with jewelry making or Spruill arts center?

I'm thinking of learning to work with silver and I'm really sick of hearing, "Oh I can teach you that! I teach beading and wire wrapping!"

whooptidoo. Is that kinda like teaching someone how to dig a hole? I want some fire. Molten sterling, damnit. Soldering and Forging.

Spruill has a class in it I'm thinking if signing up for next session. Anyone taken classes there? Worth the moola?

MD—> something you could do... i did this with the anatomy class i almost took... request the teacher's email address and exchange a few emails about the content of the class and what you want to do / explore, etc. how much the supplies cost would be a major factor if you're going to be casting platinum. I have NO experience with jewelry.

AD—> ahhh... i was beginning to wonder where the doll wondered off to. second job? that's cool that's cool... an absinthe habit is hard to support right. you gotta gotta gotta get your own worms. and your own wood too. those two things. and a sugar strainer would be nice too. have gotten lots of querries about P*O*X*U*S from people. I tell em... "well this red egg, he's got a black heart. Double poached delicious on toast ain't too proud to boast..."

MD - a happening in little-5-points, outside the vortex, right? what time? seems like that might be a great CATL trip to draw cool costuming.

All: I'll be there tonight with boozer doodle pad in-tow so everyone can laugh at how my sketching degraded as my B.A.C. increased. I think I hit my peak at 1 shot, 1 glass of scotch and a beer.

Thx, fae. I thought I was the lone CATL representation until Monet and Tyler cornered me in my car after it let out.

Are you coming out for the next boozer doodle? Would be good next time to have some Fae-esque commentary running along with the background audio mix. It's not for a while, but I bet the tickets are going to go very quickly.

So more then likely Thomas will be making more appearances, and will be driven by my friend Chris, who I believe you'uns would enjoy his company as much as I.

The Vortex, which we all know and love for their contributions to the arts, has pulled the plug on the afformentioned L5P Carnival. Thats all I know. Let us pray they don't get the same inkling for our lovely new Vortex venture.

In the meantime, I'll still be dancing (traditional style, not tribal) at Persepolis on the 21st, and we might be jamming (tribal style) in the inman park parade on the 28th.

    doing ink wash

who needs markers when you have a brush pen and a near infinite supply of black ink expanding into the abyss, ruining sketchbooks and otherwise fine line drawings? fought off the sam flax craving for pretty new tria markers. whew... close call!

You guys wanna do dinner on the 21st to check out monet's dances? Persepolis... isn't that... up off of holcomb bridge? greek food? sound off?

    Here's my review.

I don't like dancing at Persepolis. I tried to say no. They flattered me into it. It's too classy for me. Too....elite? The clientele is mixed, but lots of Persians, folks who are bored with bellydancing and can do it while they sleep, and don't care give me a second glance.

The meal pricing isn't awful, great place for a very classy date and all...but I'd much rather be dancing at Cafe Istanbul, which has a much more unique, bohemian, relaxed flair to it. Where people are more likely to let out a happy "woohoo!" and lift a glass and fall out of their chair, or pillow as they case may be.

I'm not keen on extreme formality, and Persepolis is very very formal.

And then there is the fact that I have to pull out my old sparkly cutsy cabaret costumes, which make me feel like I'm wearing someone else's skin. I understand that comment could inspire a whole tangent in this group, restrain yourselves.

That said....the food is great. Ofcourse you are welcomed and encouraged to come. I'm dancing from 7:30-10/10:30, about 3 sets spread out in there. Having some casual (wear rippped jeans, maybe you'll balance out the snoot factor!) sketchy people there (pun intended) might make me feel a bit more at home. And I can come chat between sets.

I just need to make sure not to draw while I'm on break. That already got me into a world of trouble...

I'm down for persepolis on the 21st. Sounds like a good time, and the eastern ambiance might provide some creative sparks. My new hell-landscape needs...bellydancers!! Anyone else plan to come out aside from guggz and AD?

    More importantly, do they serve?

if persepolis is formal attire i'm not wanting to have to get my sketchbook dyed for the occasion...

the parade sounds like more fun, less awkward atmosphere, cheap too

but yoo guys know me i'm down for whatever like ice cube

Gugg: I dunno, I think it might be pretty sweet to see the herd all decked out and tie-clad for some snooty-doodle. We can all sketch with our pinkies arrogantly aloft. Sound off, everyone. I don't want to be the only "strange guy in the corner drawing all the dancers".

Monet: Good luck with hauling this crew away from their sketch books and onto the golden glow of the Studio Persepolis dance floor...

Monet: I'm not sure CATL dancing (professionals excluded) is such a good idea in a place where people are trying to consume food. Persians likely don't enjoy yacking up their yak & cous-cous any more than non-Persians.

...this is the first time i've been able to get on the thread in days.

tomorrow's the jam. it's my dancing day =P

on a diff note, to add to the injuries: someone half fell on me last night and I have a swollen bruise on my left top of my wrist/arm now... the bruise doesn't show in color so much, but the swelling is still there some and it hurts... about 3-4 inches long of an area.

    Fun fun. The Masquerade =O

Is anyone else here getting frustrated with this site's technical glitches? errm.. moo...

in my sketchbook perusing i've been noticing some constant php download errors that are making me nuts. if we need to have some kind of feed to the catl site or something i'd love to implement it. on the mac side things can get confusing sometimes with all the errors. thoughts.

    Anyways, happy tax weekend
