Okay, I'll ask for a table for eight, just to be safe. See you all there.

¡¡¡CINQUO-DE-SKETCHO!!!
¡¡¡Høla CATL Sketchgroup!!!
Here's an update on the CATL sketchgroup ¡¡¡CINQUO-DE-SKETCHO!!! event that i emailed you all information about this past weekend.
You can find the pertinent information here (particularly a map of the area in question) at this thread on CA and also join in the discussion

The so-called "FAQs" at this point are as follows:
• 7:30 pm at Don Pablo's near Cumberland Mall; there's a Border's nearby there.
• dinner prices between $8 - $14.
• Of course, as usual, we'll play it all by ear, you can call me at (uhhh no. you'll have to PM me to get my number) if you have any questions.
• Look for the sketchbook weilding fiends, ask the receptionist for the CATL or conceptart group, and introduce yourself.
• It is highly likely that i will be running a little bit late on friday, but i will be there to "get my sketch on" as soon as i humanly can...
1st APPEARANCE!!! Highly Collectible!!! CATL AFTERPARTY!!! Also, if anyone is game i'm going to prolly drink + continue the Unsane drawing party back at my apartment in Roswell, spin some records, chill out and MAYBE bust out the Tria ink refills--until??? Should be cool.
Anyhow, I sincerely hope to see a lot of you all out celebrating sketchbook independence.
Before you decide that you've got better plans, maybe you should ask yourself: Where would you personally be without sketchbooks???

Shazam!! I'm fuckin psyched that our little atlanta threas is growing by leaps and bounds. See everyone there.
trevor
i will def. try to be there... gonna be dead tired POSSIBLY... or probably, by that point, my body will have forced me to think i'm awake like normal...
got your #, so yeh.
Unfortunately i'm going to have to cancel the so-called (@ my apartment) "afterparty" portion of cinquo de sketcho CATL celebration. bummer... sorry... haven't had a chance to straighten things up and it's just not a possibility. will still be at the fiesta in marietta though, during / after which we can decide what to do where to go draw from there.
WOOOT!

I shall shoot drawing beams at the sketch group from my isolated space bubble outside the realm of human civilization <wananananananaaaaa> Ok, now you are all ready to draw.
Hey, kids. It's now time for another visit from your satellite friend, Grendel. I'm working on getting my digital camera fixed, so you better watch out for some sketchbook posts. Also, if you haven't been, you should visit the Georgia Aquarium. There is some nice sketching to be had. I was there back in January and it rocked hard core tasty abs washerboard-style. I liked the river scout exhibit best. They had piranhas. They just floated there and stared at you, contemplating the most efficient way of dismembering your flesh. It was awesome.
Speaking of vomit guggenmaneuver, are you doing the weekly 3ch topic? That would be special.

hey goatrape,
too bad you didnt post earlier, we just had a meeting tonight in fact...there were a dozen of us and it was pretty cool. Keep an eye on this thread for info on future meetings
Yeah, i didnt start reading this thread until about midnight last night...by then it was a bit too late to meetup with ya all. Hopefully next time will be better, im looking forward to it. I dont know anyone in atlanta and would like to meet some people that share common interests.

This is a little bit more finished than a sketch, but I thought I should participate sooner, rather than later. That and the fact that you guys get to draw together without me.

-GG,
We keep you there in spirit. Sort of like the CATL Totem...
"Do not anger the great god of the sketchbook or the fiery pencil shaving wrath will BURN THIS MUTHA DOWN!"
Now, if only that threat scored us a bigger table - and sooner - we would have truly rocked the Don Pablo's last night...
Also, solid group last night and good to meet everyone. It was just the sort of thing I needed before coming home to my A/C thawing out and slowly flooding my place [maintenance, where are you!]...pld:
Also - per our discussion regarding air hockey and one Mr. Android Jones: http://rpgs.joystiq.com/2006/03/26/a...ter-rules-gdc/ - play against the master, and you WILL lose fingers...

Eric! Wow that SUCKS! SORRY ABOUT the AC damage. Not cool. Ok.... that was a REALLY bad pun. Next CATL sketchgroup meeting you can draw on my bald head.

Hey Grendel Grack, thats a really cool concept and a very good drawing
Glad you like the name guggenmaneuver,a friend and i came up with it years ago after a long night of drinking and it just kinda stuck with meI think it was watchin too much SNL with goatboy, with a slight dose of kids in the hall.
OOH... our little meetup thread here is almost at two pages!
goatrape--> an excellent combination. Your so-called sick sense of humor is in good company.
So: I sent out an email message a few minutes ago: anyone down to go see Bodies at the Civic center and draw for 3-4 hours?
discuss amongst yrselves

Sounds good to me. Oh yeah im going to the zoo on sunday to draw for a bit, i have a membership and i think i can get someone in for free with me if anyone feels like.
Thanks man, I appreciate the support. I just have one question...Do you rape goats for fun or profit?Originally Posted by goatrape
The ZOOO!!! The reptile house rocks anus! That was always my favorite part (the reptile house, not the rocking of my anus). You get the feeling that the reptiles could break out of the shoddily build 70's craftsmanship at any moment! WOwwww. You'll definately have to post your sketches from there. See if they still have the scorpions under the black light. You could always draw a concept involving a ginormous mutant radioactive panda-eating glow-in-the-dark scorpion (or other favorite arachnid). Your quest is set. Go forth and sketchulate!

I would take you up on that goatrape, but i'm going to be out of town!THey HAVE A HUGE GHARIAL at the ZOO! coolest reptile ever. and a komodo dragon as well... wish i could go.
K, here's the text of the email that I just sent:
"I gained CATL sketchgroup experience, but lost my CATL sketchgroup innocence."
(last night was SOOOOO much fun but way 2SHORT like the rapper...)
Would anyone be down to go see Bodies at the civic center? drawing
from the specimens there... AMAZINGLY helpful, challenging, fun,
expensive. yes. $20 admission... but so worth it, especially if you
get some good studies out of the deal.
After the large turnout last night and inevitable school's ending
summer months it seems right and good that we should try to get
together for the best references this side of the pasture.
Specifically for those of you who are going to be out of town until
fall of this year.
We can discuss this further as need be at the CATL discussion thread here:
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53365
hope to see everyone's results from last night in the CATL sketchbook
thread here:

I left my mark in the sketch thread.
Actually raping goats is a job i have on the side, it is quite profitable...and fun![]()
I love going to the zoo, once i get my scanner up and running i will post some stuff...thats why i havent posted anything yet. The reptile house is awesome, i love reptiles, i have 2 geckos at my place. But my favorite part is the petting zoo, although i am now banned from that partWell i have my membership until august so the offer still stands until then (i cant afford to renew it after that), i will periodically post and let you all know when im going in case anyone wants a free visit
Lots of activity today...Where to begin:
1) A/C is fixed. For the next 3 days, I have a wonderful "WindStorm" air dryer blowing over the carpet to dry up the flooded areas. The pros: It blows wonderfully cool air into the office and keeps the heat from the machines down. The cons: That same, wonderfully cool air is probably filled with mold and mildew which is at this very moment seeping into my lungs and poisoning everything that is the sum of my being...If this should be my last post, tell my mother I love her...
2) GR - welcome. The group is really growing here and having someone onboard with "animal husbandry" experience will be helpful should one of our sketch sessions cause us to become marooned on a deserted isle populated exclusively by members of the familia Bovidae...
3) HHH - after checking your post in the Sketch Forum, I headed over to your sketchbook thread. Solid stuff there. Looking forward to seeing what you bring back with you from summer break.
4) Body Worlds next Saturday: skinless people filled with goo and posed in sometimes curious positions: I'm down. It's not everyday you can walk among people flayed and displayed.Besides, they have wicked postcards you can purchase. No better way to shout out to mom on Mother's Day than with a post card of "muscles in motion..." All kidding aside, you couldn't ask for a better anatomy session and this will be valuable to hit as a group or individually...

Best of luck with that AnalogDoll, doesnt sound like much fun. Oh well, so much for hittin the zoo this morning with all this rain. Guess i will just tend to my goats until it clears up
insufferable goat jokes?!??
hehehe
cool, cool. on the bodies we'll try to get some head count or idea maybe tuesday or wednesday of this week;
Yeah HHH / kenneth's stuff is awesome--mastermind-level!
And ahhh yeah... so mothers day, AD--> thanks for the reminder!
To the Floral Sappy greeting Card BATTLESTATION GUN TURRETS!
joel
There is a good chance that I'm in for some flayed sketch action. Is there any place to eat down there?
Hooray for CATL sketchgroup....60+ and going strong
