    Thistleheart Comic Cover

Finally finished work on John Schlim’s new comic THISTLEHEART!

Here’s a preview of the cover to #1:

Pencils by Lan Medina (Eisner Award-winning artist on Fables, Aria, District X, Mutopia, et al.)
Inks by Jose de Jesus Salas (Dandelion)
Digital painting by Alfredo Lopez Jr!

Thistleheart is a contemporary fantasy that follows the life of a man who becomes a suicidal failure on his own world, yet a heroic savior on another world he never imagined could exist. After purposely crashing a prototype stealth jet, Trevor Bennett’s charred and mutilated remains are drawn into another dimension where he is re-made into something entirely different by the conflicting magiks of two eternal enemies. Now back on Earth with no memory of his past existence, the strange creature struggles to free himself from the control of an undead priest . . . and to regain his lost humanity.

John was really receptive to the way it came out and has invited me to color the cover to #2 as well. Of course, I immediately agreed

I’ll keep everyone posted on the status.

Wow...awesome image, m8. I like the design, composition and Your choice of lights. Cool work.
As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance.

    Hey, Freddie!!

I haven't seen your work in a while. This is looking awesome! Reminding me of Capullo's digital paintings! Great job. Love that tree.
