kaktuzlime Thanks for popping by and for the kind words.

Another one for from today. I am an idiot. I started doing this painting
and after a while I noticed that this is the actual size I was painting.
I thought I was painting a much bigger version. And of course I was painting on the background layer so I can't even change that blue color I don't like. So maybe this will be my avatar.

Zaor Thank you very much. I'll try...

It's 2 am and I'm making meatloaf and painting monsters. This is not
the life of a sensible almost 30 year old man.

Thank you guys for the kind words. Though I know that you have to do something really evil to get something else than praise here at CA, it makes me feel all warm inside when I get some.

Though not reffed it seems to me that I have seen the second figure from the right before... Weird...

    Those noses are awesome.

Maybe I'm don't understand what you're trying to do with the lined portraits below, but they're not working for me. The faces have character but the outlines are really distorted, which is clashing a lot with the realistic shading. It looks intentional, but it doesn't work for me...just not getting it.

There are some very nice hands recently and your figure studies are looking good.

Max1975 Thanks for the advice. Those figures were done really fast. I was just trying out different styles.

Been in and out of the hospital lately. Had some periods of not having any energy or inspiration to draw or paint. But it's all better at least for now.

A couple of stiff drawings. No ref, should really use some though.

Darkchild Thank for popping by. I'm still alive sometimes.

Couple of "pages" of bw portraits. First ones not referenced
, second ones referenced as you probably can see. Trying to experiment with different methods of painting. These were done zoomed out and with a large brush. Trying to
    focus on the larger shapes.

No ref, hence the shitty anatomy and overall bad quality of painting.

Another quick one. Painting made after life drawings of other artists here stolen from the life drawing thread. It's kind of not so frightening to paint using drawings as a reference. I really need to study poses and drawing the whole figure not just always hassle around with these shitty monster head paintings.

the value studies are starting to look real solid, dude! maybe keep an eye on those soft edges, but that might just be a matter of taste.
    keep kickin!

Hi Placeboast, great pencils man! One thing: yo seem to have the habit to draw a heavy contour line around the faces (like in post #279). I think you should try to add more vatiation in the lineweight, to get a more natural result. Keep going!

First real stab at trying to understand colors without color picker.
Hard as hell and these suck big time but... I'm really proud of myself for doing
these for I have been avoiding doing these for five years. These really
opened my eyes to a another world. Not afraid anymore to try to tackle the
    hard stuff.

Thanks to Mr Dave Rapoza for the inspiration and for the kick in the ass.

Moro! ...as you say in Tampere, and thanks for commenting on my sb.

All the pencil stuff here is just ridiculously good and also a great reminder of how important it is to do traditional drawing too instead of mere digitals. Hope you keep those up even though you're doing more digitals at the moment.

Good to see you also joined Crimson Daggers. It's been a real eye opener for me too. One day we will all rock the world of art big time.

Wow, you've got fantastic sketches and you do so many anatomy studies. I wish I had your discipline.

Your digital work looks a bit blurry, have you tried working with a harder edged brush and just turning the opacity down? It might make them look more in focus, although the contour lines your adding over top do help. They look good, all the rendering is so careful and well done.
