Hello everyone! I found this awesome forum just over a week ago. been drawing
about a month or so after taking a ten year break from drawing (of whitch I
am veeeeery grateful to myself) so my drawings are not so great for now.
I'm improving everyday and I hope by the end of july next year I'll be
able to produce something that I will proud of. I've seen some great stuff here.
I really enjoy the sketchbook part of this forum. You guys are very inspiring.

I like the cartoon heads on the bottom of the first posts, I'll be swiping those. You've got good line work overall, but sometimes there's too much emphasis on curved lines. Like on 10/3, around the shoulders you can make the lines more angular. Remember these basic rules: Angular = hard, curving = soft.

Thank you for the comment Armando. I'm still at the very beginning of my
drawing "career", so my emphasis on my drawings is not on the shadowing.
First I've got to learn to draw the outlines of the characters. By the way
these drawings are all drawn very fast.

some of these are very good man! especially the hands/arms, and i like your cartoon drawing a lot too (the faces in the first post)! the feeling i get looking at most of them is that your drawing the outlines without seeing much of what’s going on the inside, kinda like drawing what you see in an anatomy book without really SEEING, my bad if im wrong ; ) you should study the bones very closely, and when you draw something...at least for these studies, draw the bones, could be very lightly, like you do the divided circle for the head before forming the face, see how the bones would shift according to the position your drawing them, the feet, hands etc. than draw the muscles/skin/folds accordingly over it. and don’t mind over the shading much yet. i hope you get what i mean, wish i could write what i mean better ; ) keep it up man! ...That fat kid's right haha you do have a lot of confidence in your lines, its already showing its worth, it will show even more sooner if you do this daily.

Mr C: Your exactly right. There's just so much to learn and as I've said I've
only been drawing "seriously" for a just over a month. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Patch. There's so much to learn and so little time and energy.
Will be posting propably the weekend after this weekend or when I find a scanner somewhere. It's gonna be a very big post.

I like the varied thickness of your lines. They're calligraphy like, and very clean.
Why did you take 10 years off?

The hands and skulls are doing good, eye of the tiger and all that jazz, I never had the patience for 3d anything, ah well keep it comin man.

Great studies man. I really like the 3d you did too. It is good to see you laying down the form before rendering it. My advice as you go along to more finished pieces would be to always draw the composition out with some framework as a whole first and then go back in and render the details.

I like your first few posts in the blue- very clean. I also like the grey shading (texta?) on the people from the October 2nd and 3rd, very effective.

I can see an improvement on later pics from the first post. It is awesome you have started drawing again, i think it is great the line quality that you have. I think the faces of your people look a little off (maybe too rounded or wide at eyes level), you should try a self portrait for practice it helps alot with structure.

Thanks a lot for your comment! I will keep working on perspective, it is just hard when I dont enjoy doing it as much, but thanks for the encouragement. I am trying to get better at keeping the quality of all my drawings up.

Gilead: Just out of pure stupidity. But you know what they say: It's better late than never. Still I'm quite proud of myself spending at least four hours a day drawing, studying on drawing and thinking about drawing. Hope to see you here again

Fal$eprofit: That 3d "work" is propably the earliest thing I've done. 3d takes a lot of hard work, but I think the best part of it is that you learn to understand perspective. Certainly something that will help your drawing skills aswell.

DeNyed: Your exactly right with your comments on the head proportions. It's something that I will really have to practise. But I enjoy the practising part the most, not just looking at the finished pieces.

Lunatea: Thank you very much. Basicly everything I have posted here are in my opinion well... crap. (except for the hand studies which I like a lot) And this is just the truth not an attempt make you feel pity on me. But learning to draw is a journey which takes a lifetime and it would be very boring if I
was a great artist today. Seeing the progress is why I draw.
