Smile Bunnies Love Carrots : UPDATED

Updated: 2 new versions, the 3rd version is the final one.

A piece that I really love, this is finished, and comments are welcomed. Do you like it? Yes or no. If yes why, if no, why not?

UPDATE!!! Here, after all of your tips, is my new version, Thanks so much you guys for the tips, I think it looks a lot better, and I kind of subdued some of the colors too, I don't know if that helped or not, but I like it. Are there still tangencies? Or did I get rid of most of them?

Okay last update on this, I think I got it right this time, if not, alas, I feel this if truely and finally finished.

Maaaan I nearly went blind because of these laser-colours! To be honest: I don't like it. But I think with this kind of artwork it's really a matter of taste, so no offend.

    Keep on keepin' on!

    cheers!

Yeah, it is a matter of taste. But you're entitled to your opinion. So thanks for the comment anyways, it's supposed to be uber cutesy stylin' and seeing as I like bright colors, well, yeah. That's all

that wasnt nice bluepuppy.... I think the major problem with this specific artwork is that its huge... and being that its a vector illo its even harder to see what your trying to convey... shrink it down.. maybe we can get a better sense of what your trying to acheive!
Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

    I like it a lot.

    Good job.
Carrot background is subtle, but it's there.

And the bunny is cute. Anyway, post some more :3

I still don't like these colours, but apparently viggostar was right, it's better know ("I can see clearly now..."). But I prefer your snow creature (also wrote a comment on this).

Glad to have you here anyway. The world would be a sad place if every piece of artwork would fit every one's taste.

    cheers!

    well, actually me likes

But take more time to think about composition...the bunny's head and the wavy background makes a tangent...move the head slightly to the right, this way you will have also the golden section...same goes for the bubble with the carrot on the left...move it up about 20-30 px...

kick the green stars, they have no meaning, unfitting colors and are confusing the viewer also detracting from the focus points...

give the pic a white border of 20 px, scale it up to 640x480 and there ya go

The border matches to the ecard/cute looking, also generates a nice effect of the bunny's head coming out of a white border, since the head is white itself...

Too true, very wise words. I'm glad there are people out there who, while you may not like my choice of colors, are still polite, and helpful. I appriciate it muchly.

this and your moon piece are very competent pieces.
    nicely done.

pictorially, they don't hold my interest very long...
but they seem perfect for packaging illustration.
very quick reads & eye-catching colors.

if you haven't already, package design, and textile design might be a good field for you to look into.

Thanks, I've been looking into it. Designing packages for things like Pet food/supplies and shampoo bottles and baby/children products is what I'm looking into at the moment, but thank you for the suggestion.

    Hahahahahahahaha...

Ignore these Phillistines, squid-boy. They think vector is good only for wiping your ass...

Nice piece. Very clean color and elements. Therein is the problem...you have some really ugly tangencies (already mentioned), and the layout could be a little more balanced--it's a bit bottom heavy right now...and what is it with that green thing to the left of the bunny?

Vector art isn't as easy as most people would like to think. Prrof of that is the fact that you're working with so few elements with such hard edges that layout/design becomes a major factor. Keep that in mind on your future pieces. You can't fudge like you can with a Paint piece when you fuck up a corner...you HAVE to plan for it ahead of time...

    "Laser colors"?

I think I know what you mean- but at least these are used competently. I hate when people use totally intense, saturated colors (MSPaint Colors)because they don't realize that you can actually vary them.

This is very well done and cute. The only thing, that I think DSI already said, is that it doesnt keep attention very long. I think you need something to lead the eye in a circle, so they continue to observe it.

But a very nice use of generally dislikeable colors!

    Final: I like it.

I like it too. And just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't mean you can act like an asshole around the forums.
A-Hem. Now that said, I think there may be a few too many bad tangents in there. While you got the style down, it might be a good idea to practice composition and the likes. Keep doing, keep posting !

Perhaps you did this on purpose, but I'm unnerved by how far apart the rabbit's eyes are, perhaps experiment with the eye position, if it appears to look at the viewer more, it will probably be more attention-grabbing as well...

Personally I think the carrot "bodies" are now a little TOO subtle, and overshadowed by the pink thing.

To answer you question, yes, it's eyes are placed far apart on purpose Not by any means to unnerve you, but for appea. And, I love slightly morbid things, and people usually pic up on the cuteness of my things, but sometimes my slight morbidity pops out, so, well, I'm kind of glad that you are "unnerved" by it. It's actually a compliment that some one mentioned/noticed it. And I agree, the carrots are too subdued now, thanks! I'll take that into consideration now and fix it and update again.

Squiddy, if you can, please put up all three(?) versions when you update them so we can see the changes, and maybe a bit smaller than your last posting so no scrolling is needed for a single piece...it's better for crit if we can see the piece in toto...or garfield or whatever...
