heyyyy long time no see! i thought you'd left forever! nice study but the left arm (from our left) looks like it's broken at the shoulder. but i'm sure the ref looked like that.

Gone back to study mode... Picked up a great book called Anatomy Drawing School. It's huge, cheap, and full of amazing content of both human and animal muscles and bone structures.

Awww.. but I like angry hard-shaded cow.

have you tried drawing these with a marker or something permanent? i think it was hard for me to retain the knowledge for studies that i wasn't familiar with (animals, anatomy etc.) because i spend so much time trying to make it right.

what i do is practice drawing a section each day (for instance the horse head) a few times and then i cover up the original and try to redraw it from memory...then look at the original and draw it again from memory, this time correcting your mistakes.

maybe it is too complicated, but it doesn't take very long and it helps you to remember key parts. ^^

Thanks, i'm going harder on the studies to burn the stuff into my visual vocabulary! As for markers, I do them occasionally, but only during my sketchgroup. I find that markers help when catching quick impressions of people, so I hesitate less!

More ADS work. I'm trying to keep going through it's pages as much as possible. The awesome pencil shading work in that book staggers me. I can only hope after much study that I can achieve the same impressive results.

A doodle that turned into a few hours. Still pretty rough, and i'm sure you can spot the glaring anatomical errors.

I've started Harry Potter Book 7, so I guess you can see where my brain is at.
