Red face black & white comic about the black frog PART 2 !

Following the trail of napalm that this movie is drawning into here's some of the work I did on "A Sound Of Thunder"
Needless to say that the result on screen is quiet different from what I was expecting.

For the bat I only did the sculpt and the color versions under photoshop the design is from someone else.

    Hope you like it...

    Wow.

Damn... I don't know which amazes me more, the sculptures, the concept art, or the matte painting... You're a talented man, Black Frog and a constant source of inspiration. Love that new Shazam illustration you did by the way, beautiful brush work.

    awesome stuff!!!
the only thing i can say is about the alosaurus, specifically the tail, it rarely bends that way. most two legged dinosaurs use their tail to keep balance, therefore its kept straight. not that i dont like it

    From a review in Aintitcoolnews.com :

The other positive I will give it is the design of the "evolved dinosaurs," those that have combined somehow with primate DNA... so the ape-dinos are well designed... Notice I said the design was well done, not the execution.

Thats the best compliment u can get lol Ive never seen the movie but when i first saw the trailer, i thought it was selling a direct to video movie, no offense. I like ur enviromental pieces, particularly the overall view

Your work is beautiful. Just amazing.

    Sad about the movie though.
I don't know how they expected to turn a 10 page (if that) short story into a movie like that.

    Thumbs up

    Holly good!!!

You know man, I just went to watch the film "A Sound of Thunder" yesterday with a friend. So you are the concept artist for that film?! We were talking about the special effects of the film was not quite a well done, but I definitely like the design part. I don't know who did the final matte paintings, i didn't buy them actually that much, because kinds like they have some depth issues. But still recommend the rest of you guys go to theater, watch the film, even just for your works.

Anyway, the concept did a good job in the film. I hope to see your work again soon.

BTW, what's the problem with the production? You definitely have some way better designs for the lab, the euipments and the weapons, why I couldn't see them in the film. Budget issues? Or the production designer doesn't like them? Have to say it was a mistake. The original short story is more interesting I think.

everything is perfect, except that first matt painting. Everything added over it stands out more than a little, for me.
Never heard of the movie but I might check it out now just to see what all is so wrong with it.

Hot Damn Mr. Frog!!! the sculpture of that bug is incrdible...I mean so is the other work, but for some reason the sculpt hit me hartdest. thank you for posting these. btw, I saw the trailer for the movie, doesnt seem that bad...I could be wrong. Isn't that a remake/an adaptation of old sci-fi literature (Im trying to think who mightve written something like this...Bradbury?!)
    Anyway, fucking awesome!!!!!
