eh you're not that special. Its way too early to tell how good you are. Drawing at your age has little to no baring(sp?) on how you'll do when your 18-19 and beyond. Lots of things will happen in your life from now till then that will ultimately dictate how your work progresses and turns out

You've been in Georgia too long, Semaj (as have I).

As for the drawing, don't measure yourself like this. Compare yourself only by how well you drew last week (as day to day stuff varies). If you want to get better, find books you enjoy or folks you trust (not those who are only going to stroke you).
Be your first, best critic.
Don't be afraid to draw what you see.
Mess up paper often, for no good reason. It will lessen the fear of messing up one with a drawing you don't like.
Look at your drawings in the mirror and upside down (or both).
Be careful about refering to yourself in the third person.
Be nice to other people.
Look both ways before crossing the street.

Come back when you master these.

If everyone here told you , you sucked.. would you just stop drawing?
I had people tell me it would be really hard to get a job just drawing creatures and dragons and monsters. I was 15 at the time granted, but when some people were telling me I had no future drawing that kind of shit.. I didnt stop because they said so.. I drew it because I loved doing what I was doing.

I've asked myself the question, what would I do if I had 5 million $?
Would I stop work, and just relax for the rest of my life?

NO. I would still want to persue my dreams, one of which is to create interesting characters, creatures, designs, art, environments for games and Films. I'd do it for free if I could afford to.

So dont bother asking people if they think your good or not.. ask for crits and try to improve but dont quit just because people might say your art sucks.

No one can become great at something without practice, and no one can improve at something without knowing where his flaws are, AND no one will be able find their own flaws without accepting peoples critics.

So what I'm trying to say is, don't be afraid. Infact take this golden opportunity to get criticised by proffesional and great artists here!

You guys have to be a bit more sensative to this kid.. HE'S 11 not 18... at that age you want encouragement people to tell you that what your doing is great, to keep on going, to never stop drawing. When I look at my old drawings when I was that age I could clearly see they sucked but, there were certain people in my life that always, gave me that smile, that encouragement, those nice words... Even though those things may not be "real" life for a young person thats the best thing you can hear, that will be your sole motivation.. He probably has no idea what he wants to do in life, nor if he wants art to be his passion... He has enough on his hands studying to fridays spelling test... My older sister used to have this boyfriend that went to an art high school... I thought he drew so awesome and till this day he does (doesnt mean if I saw the drawings now I would say "shit that sucks") but, thats the memory I have... He was the reason I started to really draw.. He gave me the motivation to try and get into an art high school... When I brought home those shitty comic book drawings and I showed them to him every time he told me there were good, excellent and to keep on going.. even though everytime what i ended up drawing were look-a-likes of his characters...! The pont is that when you get older and start making wise decisions for yourself as an adult, yeah you shouldnt need anyone to tell you if you can draw, if you should continue to draw, or if you'll have any future in art... but, at eleven what you want to hear is motivation...

SilverCossak- Reguardless of what I wrote in this thread (which was mainly for the others and not for you) you have skills, you have the passion for art, and you have art on the brain... Keep it that way.. you've been drawing for four months and you have several drawings already.. Thats amazing... Keep on going.. keep on learning... educate yourself on art and artists... work on different things... try to keep a wide range.. that way you'll learn what you like to do and what you do best... This is a great site to give you inspiration and many tools you'll need to help you grow... A great suggestion that someone mentioned is to start a sketchbook and keep with it... You'll get tons of great tips and advice and from many artists that are your inspiration... How cool is that?! Theres also many assignments on this site that will help you keep busy on various topics... try to do as many as possible... the sketchbook that hopefully you will create will help you physically see your improvements... 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years.. Just imagine being o this forum for five years while working hard with you artwork and improving 100 times then where your at right now and you'll only be 16! That my friend is amazing... Just look at mindcandyman's sketchbook... he started about 3 or 4 years ago and look at what he's doing now...! and he started at a later age!! Your at a point where you can cancel out many mistakes and bad habits by learning the right ones now... Keep up the great work and good luck to you.. I look forward to seeing your sketchbook...
