forgot this one from around christmas time when i was in no way soberrrrrr
I like the monster ideaas. The one with the sword is the coolest one.keep at it
Cool man. What sort of pencil are you using for these sketches? Are you going straight in with the heavy line or are you lightly building it up? I really like the floating beard face, it's got a nice line to it and it makes you believe there's some dimension to it. Explore that more, or even develop on some the earlier rendering techniques. Let's see you resolve of these alien things, as you have been doing in your life drawing. That's about it man keep up the good work! x
I like all your pencil and charcoal stuff, but the last monsters are awesome, like they would move, grow or transform into another position/figure! I think if you are drawing the lines so fast and NOT confident slow (like the humans before and after the monsters), you could achieve very well done drawings which will surprise yourself. I saw that in Lukias' drawing style. It looks like the pencil doesn't leave the paper many times and the details are LAYERED later by pushing the pencil harder on the paper. (If you don't know his stuff: the sketchbooks of him are linked in the pencil masters thread.)
inexp tablet: thanks man!
ben: cheers, depend s on the drawing really. life drawing im more confident and just go in there with chunky lines. monsters and stuff i tend to build it up.
dope fiend: i like that word...buttery. smoooooth . curious?? ask a question and get an answer....
jasper: yeah its nice to let go and play around abit. i want to do more of that. conventional line life drawing is getting a little uninspiring now
surus: i really want to understand what your saying but my brain isnt making sense of that sentence!! are you saying i should draw slower or faster, more or less confident? and are you talkin g about the monsters or life drawings ?
damn these rock

post more man the community wants your lines back
hey dude hows lara treating you? looking forward to updates.
A response! Nice to see your still alive and kicking, love to see some more.
Very very cool stuff. Especially the simplicity of your sketchbook pages ... damn. So jealous right now. I always get all the proportions wrong with every stroke. Frustrating.
always like seeing how other people approach the same subject, getting some sargentesk marks in there.
should do a tube sketch flash mob,
thanks people. heres a couple quick ones. now i can find myself doing a sketch in under 30 seconds, it inevitably means a compromise on the drawing but it keeps me sane after 5 week atelier studies. more on my blog
jason: shit man long time how have you been?
mane: thats a pretty big compliment im not sure i deserve at the moment. havent actually seen a lot of sargents sketches but ive got a few books on the way
