Its good to see you experimenting with color temperature,
the last one its going on the right direction but its lacking
saturation and deep darks to make the figure pop, Keep doing
the color temp experiments don't be afraid to use bold colors,
you can try doing some still life's to train your color sense,
also read and do the exercises form the
color tut of Prometheus ANJ even if don't want to paint like
him doing em will train your to get better color combinations.

I made a little over paint of one of your characters I REALLY,
REALLY like your design sense, just do more color studies and
don't over empathize every muscle , think of which area is gonna
be your focus, so that the image doest feels over saturated
with detail.

Thats that, I hope this help you a little I'm not best in color
theory so take my advise with tons of salt I prolly just
adding my mistakes on top of yours.

Hi Staylor!

Things are looking really good for the most part. I especially like the dino rider, the trading cards, and this guy: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...5&d=1180118990

You're exercising your imagination and coming up with some sweet ideas.

My only crit at the moment is on your digital work. The problem is most evident here: http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1178770156 and that is that proportions are getting messed up and everything looks a little distorted. Skewed maybe. I see this in other people's all-digital work too, including my own. I think it might have to do with tablets being too small. I don't know what the answer is, but it's something to be aware of.

Thanks Max, I do have a weird problem with proportions on the computer. That's something I must investigate.

I feel silly responding to a thread from 2005, but on the offchance it is read and forwarded, I feel totally compelled to tell STaylor that I LOVE your sketches; the lil girl who's best friends with Killbot is just like me and my little sister; chimera reminds me a little of myself (I'm 6' tattoed scary rocker guy who works out and plays bass/sings in a band called Cult of Skulls). Keep it up, whether or not you get this message, I LOVE your vision of the gov't; the 1970's being the starting point for reanimation technology, all your characters and the jet-engine headed demon; your apparent obsession/default drawing tendancy towards demons and monsters- [did you grow up with nice older brother who became a serial killer or something? ]... It would be so awsome if you made a comic book. It's not so rare for scientists to become authors of such things in their spare time, as you may know. Keep going with your art and ideas, you are SO talented and your work has inspired me. Thanks.

You have some of the most imaginative designs I've seen. Keep working on the technical skill, and keep up these wicked creations.

I really love the 'machine-head' creatures. They've totally inspired me to make some. Hope you don't mind!

Your inking is rather good, too. Like that multi-legged creature spanning over two pages. I would like to see that joined up.

Hey Staylor! Good pictures, i really liked the last update. The last picture looks really kickass! The only crit that came to my mind is that maybe you could think about the relation of the soft edges versus the sharp? right now all the edges seem to have the same firmness, but if you would introduce some soft edges and suggested forms&planes it might give interesting results.
