i loved those thumbnails.
for the color piece, it looks great so far. my only crit would be about the legs, they seem to be a bit small for the body.
other than that i'm digging it. i think your painter style is kicking ass.
looking forward to updates.

Thanks ender, the reason they look so small is because its a visual effect caused by the fairly low hung loin cloth - I made a block alteration to help alleviate this effect - updated.
Also, pumped up the saturaton and contrast in some places.
Man, I love the crazy textures you get going on in your pieces, that's just something I can't get a grasp on....guess you really gotta mess with the different brushes...
good stuff...
oh man these rock. I love how you convey the form so well with so few details.
there's one thing though - the colored version appears less motional when compared to the draft. The guy's shoulders look more turned and dynamic in the black and white version. That's how I feel at least.
I totally see what you mean, I'll definitely fix them tommorrow. Thanks.Originally Posted by JERI
I like how in the sketches (thumbnails?) they have no form. That's really cool.
In the colored pic, i don't know but it seems that the guy is way too wide.
Slightly updated version - mainly in the top of he shoulder armour.

You may have to fix the abs as well, they look like they facing front, and if you show them facing slightly to his left, it may assist in conveying motion. And about the legs, I think you can show less of his right foot, so it looks more like he's walking and his right foot is being obscured by his leading left foot.
But the shoulder fix definitely worked, I can swear he looks more "movey" now.
Just my two cents.
Man, these are really cool. I've got to get a friggin' tablet. I think this may have already been addressed, but the colored one looks like the head may be a little off center. I don't know if it's the pose he has that makes it look that way, or if my monitor is leaning again.![]()
Thanks guys for all the crits - jeri, spot on the money mate, every time.
I'll fix more tomorrow, also, I was looking at it for like 10 mins today knowing something was drastically wrong - I can't believe no one has pointed out the fact that his head is rediculously small haha.
I've altered the head and lengthened his legs to conform to ideal proportions, but i wont post it as the difference is far too small an update.
Once again thanks for the crits.
