    stroke man

Yup. I'm drawing an old man that's going to have the brain thrown into it with arteries leading to the brain. There will be areas of blockage and hemorrhage and explanations of what is going on when a hemorrhagic stroke transpires.
This is my conceptual pose for this series...no brain yet (thus the happy dazed look on his face). My ref photo has the guy in a suit jacket, so perceiving what is going on at the back of the head is a bit tough. Any ideas on what I've messed up?
The anatomy in general is the tough part - trying to put the right anatomy in the proper plane can be a beeeatch.
At any rate, the brain will ghost through the head as will the vessels. Will post the next step of my research sometime soon...just wanted to give this up to the critique board for any insight to how the senior looks.
Oh yeah, it's for a patient education brochure and web site on...duh...strokes.

I did this in pencil at 3x5, photocopied at 200%, reworked a bit, scanned and softened/touched up the file in Photoshop and put it here for you to see. 1.5 hour.
I'm rusty....drawing muscles and organs is what I do most of the time...gets a bit tough when I have to draw external surfaces.

    That said...have at it!

    Cheers!

    great work

Your picture is great, the shading looks right, and it has a nice soft look about it. I was looking it over, and the only thing that stood out to me as a possible area to look at was the ear. It looks as though it's supposed to be an ear on a picture of a man (if that makes any sense). It's very subtle, but it was the only thing I noticed. I think the shading around the ear might be what is causing it look somewhat detached from the head.

Looks very good though. Keep up the good work.
