Hey everybody, my name's orcatraz and this is my sketchbook. I'm a pretty new name around here but I've been lurking here since '02.

I'm hoping that this sketchbook thread will motivate me to draw more often, but I can tell you right now, it won't be updated daily. sorry

    Some random older sketches (filler)

Some oC sketches. (Click image to download wpe file) You can download open canvas here if you don't already have it.

    From life

This was for a thunderdome challenge

This was a sketch I did for the Miss Conduct thread. I lost interest and will probably not finish it.

This is my entry for the current T-Dome. done in PS

    alternate background

Awesome work man, your painting is very good, very good lighting and volume.

The lighting on the Demon TDome is very cool.

Looking forward to more, keep it up.

A fiver from me too; you definitely deserve it
That last one is especially lovely. Great work on the lights and shadows, and I really like this scene a lot better in comparison to the alternate background.

my only crit would be with the 3rd and 2nd last pieces. I just notice that the length between both shoulders look a bit too short, particularly with the girl. With the guy it also appears that his head is a tad bit too large for the rest of his body- just some small things to look out for.

Really great stuff tho and I can’t wait to see what else you got. I’ll definitely be checking back!

Wow, thanks for the comments everybody.

spicy meatballs: I've had a wacom for 2-3 years now but I don't draw very often. I'm still not used to painting digitally.

AndrewLey: Thanks man, I really appreciate it.

PHATandy: Thanks, I was given a tough opponent in the TD so I'm really crossing my fingers to make it to round two.

Dutch Badass: Thanks for the stars man.

Pixeldragoon Hey, I know you. you were supposed to be in that TD that Midnight started.

    romance: OK, done.

Midnight: Thanks, I still have a ways to go.

aesir: Thanks, this next one is rougher.

    FuT: Thanks for the stars.

    Tigermilk: Thanks man.

t e m p i s t ~: Thanks, I agree completely with all your crits. There are tons of anatomical flaws because I did them out of my head. I keep meaning to do some studies from photo ref but I find that pretty boring. I should really go to a life drawing session again.

A big "Thank you" to everyone who gave me stars.

This was a doodle in PS. I didn't go into it with any forethought. I felt I had to draw something so I could post and thank everybody for the nice comments. I was going to draw swords or guns in his hands but ran out of steam, now it looks like he's reaching out for a big gay hug. Oh well.

What's up Orcatraz! I decided to venture away from the WPE thread and see if you had any other threads goin. Whether they're mostly WPE images or not they still rock. And I REALLY love that last sketch. Great style and I love the facial features. You GOTTA get some more stuff up here, I'm dyin to see what else you've got.

here is a WIP. I'm going to have to leave it for now to work on the T-Dome.

no ref, which is why a lot of it is whacked. I'll have to break out some anatomy books to finish.

Don't have much experience painting with a Wacom... Whatever. These are all really nice! The TD piece is great as well. I'd say you're pretty freakin' good with a tablet in hand, my friend. I think the little monkey guy is my fave tho. He's just got a lot of personality! The line work stuff is nice too. Very simple and to the point. I like it. It seems like you don't struggle too much to get what you want. I on the other hand have to make a million lines before I hit the one I actually want. My aim is to be somewhere up there with you someday. We'll see. Keep postin'. Great start you've got here!

ZebzFree: I also make a million lines looking for "the right one". I try to hide it by drawing lightly when using pencil or using [Ctrl + Z] when working digitally.

    Capprotti: Thanks Bro.

the_allejo05: Thanks man, yeah the drapery sucks, I tried to fake it from memory, but it didn't work. This is as far as I got while actually in front of the model.

    vigostar: Thanks

    Inkfish: Thank you

strych9ine: Thanks, I really liked yours too. And thanks for organizing the whole thing.

Eriboss: Well, my friend, you got your wish. and as a result of that I hate you and you will never be my best friend. Just kidding, congrats. you deserve it.

scumgrinder: Thanks for resurrecting my SB.

Well, I haven't been drawing much lately, and what I have drawn I don't really want to post, but here it is anyway:

Here are a couple sketches for a children's book I'm thinking of doing. And an oC doodle of the hulk. I don't even like the hulk, I don't know why I drew him

Sorry for the untimely and crappy update, I have a feeling everyone is going knock a couple stars off my sketchbook rating after this post, Oh well.
