it is made in clay. after that mould is made(to can easily switch materials) and it's finished in plaster.

I think the question is: What kind of clay?

Looks pretty good. Of course, I envy most sculpture...

the clay for me is not big deal at all. it was prety dirty actualy and a little bit pain to work with. but that is the clay we are offered free from our academy(we usualy use it becouse its nov very easy in bulgaria to cary around 200kg clay) i mean that our clay is junk . but what I wanted to say is that for me the most imporatan thing is the plaster. I make the rough shape in clay. I try to put whatever detail clay could endure. and the finishing is always in plaster. I like it's resistence.

Man the sculpture's really cool especially in life-size. How long did you take to build it up in clay?

    cheers

thanks, but the exact figure we are talking about is not life size . I have done with this piece for 3 months 2 days per week( becouse I've had another work at that time) basicly its done for about 16-17 days(including mould making). life size works about a month(when it is portrait of person like the figure in this thread). if there is no model the figure is done about in 10 days(life size)+ 3-4 days mould.
here are one portrait in clay-
