Not really new here.. been lurking around for a while. Bloody great stuff in here!
My favorites list did indeed double when I found this place

Well anyway, finally said to my other self, "Now mate, pull up your socks!", collected some courage (intimidated by all the pro's) and posted this thing.
Never mind the drawing/lineart thing, (old thing I had on my comp) I'm kinda just looking for a coloring crit on this one. I'm at this stage, what can I do to improve? What basic mistakes am I doing? and so fourth. I'm a very demanding first poster hehe

The pose is really confusing me.

Maybe try to have a pose that means something nothing that just looks so random. Try to draw more before you start to paint.

Work up a rough comp before working so hard on something not that complicated.
Establish where your light source(s) is/are.
In B&W, establish your darkest shadows and lightest highlights.
Rough out fabric folds and flats - this looks like he's wearing a t-shirt 3 sizes too small...
Try to have a visual reason/explanation for any weird "doohickies" you add, like the markings on the upper torso (confusing at present), and the weird chest belt with the two metal disks.
Once you know what you're coloring and why, it might be easier to establish strong contours and sharper details.

practice practice practice
do some coloring then post it here (might wanna do a scetchbook for that) and wait for crit and learn from the crit..thats a little side help..but just try and if i doesnt look right in ur eyes then just redo it untill it looks right..look at reference images to see how things are..how cloth moves/hands on a person and draw it..keep it up

Crash: Constantly drawing, wanted to try painting in ps7, really hard with a mouse. My second painting attempt in ps =)

Madster: Point taken about the light source, I didn't make one in the beginning and was to lazy to correct when I decided to go all the way. I did indeed want the "t-shirt" to be really small but I messed it up, point taken. And about the "doohickies" I totally agree, the thing is I didn't put any real tought into this thing, mainly a coloring experiment.

Sik-Styles: Indeed sir! thats about the only thing I do these days, have to make a scetchbook someday.

I don't quite understand the "color experiment" explanation...
Were you trying colors to see what went best with what, as in color palettes?
Were you trying to achieve depth or texture with color?
Were you trying to establish a mood?
What? And did you succeed or not?

I can see how you don't understand since I am very bad at explaining things.
The answer is little of everything, I was testing if I could paint at all, testing everything, opacity changes and so fourth.
What I mean by that "I didn't put any thought into it" was that I didn't think the bobeing through, the painting part I did put thought into. I did succed in a way, I painted this thing the only way I know how and threw it your way for crits. All for the sake of improvement.

Edit: Oh a personal victory is at hand! you noticed that the disks were made of metal, I wasent sure if it would work the way I painted them
