Wow, that has got to be the slowest image host ever (*hint*photobucket*hint*). But the wait was worth it. I'd be really hard pressed to tell those from a photograph. Nice composition with the architecture too. I'm curious why you changed the building reflections between the two. Did you find that the lighter reflection didn't mesh well with the red car, or were you just tryin' something different?
Sorry about the slow image host but its the only one that provides data on how many views were made. I like to keep track. Hehe. Photobucket doesnt have that so maybe you know other image hosting websites that have please share.Originally Posted by fukifino
As for the building reflection, the first render had actual 3d models facing the main buidling to have reflections Its a pain for ram resources having real environments though. The second render I used a panoramic pic mapped on a half cylinder facing the main buidling. The render was more manaegable for my memory but I didn't notice any difference in rendering time between the two. I guess its time to take more panoramic pics with my digicam as I find it more practical for renders to be done like the second render.
here's a screen cap I posted on cgtalk.

Lightwave is easy to use but not free. Blender is free and its easy to use to learn the basics of rendering and modelling.Originally Posted by NukeouT

how long does it usually take you to render something with this quality setting?
I was monkeying around with glass tutorials the other day and found it takes more than a day to render 1/10th of an 800x600.
