Well I'm checking my self in here since I have only posted a few times and I am also beginning my illustration career. Just read some of the sticky thread in the finished section so just to not over estimate my drawing skills I will start off here with finished work, and sketches that I have done. C+C is more than welcomed.

You seem to ink too heavy, as if that will make up for your lack of detail. Try for a bit more subtlety and see if you can better delineate features with a minimum of line.

Ok thanks for the crit on the inking. I will see if I can take your advice and put it to use. Here is the next pencil to be inked. I get extremely nervous doing this because I've never learned how to ink. I'm currently using drafting pens and my watercolor sable brushes. I will post the inked version once it's done.

Have you ever tried using crosshatching for shadows? That will keep you from over-inking, as you will be making a series of lines, each additional direction deepening shadows.

the poses you use look very rigid. i think you may already know this as from what i can see here you compensate for that by not bothering to draw full bodies. also start thinking about where the light is coming from.. it seems to be coming from all over the place, but mainly from directly above in your pictures at the moment.. but then you have bright white places right next to darkest spots on the picture on the same surface facing the same direction (the left soldiers right arm for example) it makes no sense to me..

for now though main thing is to be less rigid!

Thanks for the C&C I will see what I can do for the rigidness of the posses and the lighting. I know that they are things that I have to work on. I may see if I have the time edit some of the finished ink with photoshop or painter. The one that's not finished I will rework to see if I can do it better. the lighting thing is that I'm portraying day ambient lighting. Not really succeeding at the moment but lets see what I can do.

Here is one I just did for a bootcamp over on RPG dot net. It's for creating miniatures for a WWII Horror line.

Here is the text as written by Objector (Don't know his real name)

Ok here is the SWAT Image with the base ink. The second one it the second coat of ink. the last on is an attempt to give it a background.

What a great effort you've made!
It looks worlds different and better to me, what do you think about it?

The lines for the shading are indeed pretty clean.

The only thing that jumps out to my eye is the white dot under the guy's chin. Adam's apple? Too bright, looks like a bead or something. Other than that, think this is looking really good.
