really like your use of values in the pen and paper sketches, makes me think about how much you can do with so simple a medium. Just one of them that I have critts for, I think the girl on the rights arm look a little out of place - maybe to far to the right, or her torso is to thick.
going to check you sb again when you post more stuff![]()
Faust old friend.. it's a true joy to see your last couple of updates. There's a great maturity to your artistic expression and it's 100% visible that it stems directly from the studies and exercises you've been hammering away with since back in our SSG days.
I'm a bit melancholic over not having been here for the journey, but I'm happy I get to see the results today, and I look forward to seeing where you'll go next. Much love!
Here's to Sketch Support Group 17 nostalgia![]()
@DStraX: wow awesome thanks! I often feel like my pages are still random and unbalanced though.
@deusExMatteo: Yeah you're absolutely right haha, the torso is too thick. Too bad I couldnt erase it
@Bloodsbane: Hey buddyYeah it's been ages! Great to see you back, its awesome see someone come back after some years
I tried to scan a page bigger than A4 with my scanner using several passes.
hey man.
keep an eye on proportions. check out that first page. bottom of the elbow should only come to the bottom of the ribcage. keep working it bro, you can do it!!!!
lovely rendering.
glad you're back, hope all's well.![]()

@purb36: YoYou're absolutely right. My proportions went wild with me in those (and other) scetches. There is so much I still have to drill into my workflow it's not even funny.

@OmertA: Thanks man!Although those paintings are just formstudies/Experiments. I can't quite get what's so interesting about that?
@Pigeonkill: thx
the more i paint and draw, the more I see me implementing my own way and things look like _I_ made them.
And it annoys the shit out of me--
Trying out something-

Good stuff Faust. I'm liking the floating cube thing, it has a lot of depth. Can't really offer any crits, you seem to be doing all the right stuff. Keep it up man![]()
Great to see you updating so frequentlyYay productivity!
The still life looked pretty badass, especially in colour and values, but maybe try tightening those edges a bit? Just to give it that extra oomph, but it's still pretty spot on.
Oh well, keep up being awesome!

@Bombur: Thanks dude, but you know that is just regular form-practice, right?
@AsaB: Yeah I feel pretty frustrated with myself right now, that's why I stepped up my art game. I failed to achieve every artistic goal I set myself for this year. Well, onto next year I guess.
Today was mostly not much time to doodle at home.
dude, that bottle is KILLER! 2nd row, first head looks GREAT! also the first head on the bottom row. keep trying to work that form, dude. you're coming along!

Hi Faust
How are you?
I like your portraits and your other studies quite a bit. Especially those doodly faces in the last update. You digiitals and especially your sketchbook pages on page 41 are even better. You have got colour and values pretty much doen, the only small problem I can still see is with anatomy, but you are doing your studies, so that won't be a problem for long!
Cheers
@purb36: Hey Aaron! Thanks for the compliment for the bottle, yeah form is still a problem I guess but than again I think it kind of is for everyone at least the thought is making me feel better
@Janos: Thanks man! How's it going? Did you find an artschool? You're right about the anatomy. Practice I guess
painting some happy clouds before bed-time, I'm half-dead-

Wow reading CA is going offline is a bummer to say the least. I hope it willl get up some time soon!
Anyways, maybe this will be my last update for a long while for that. Too bad it's just a perspective study![]()

Nice perspective study. Seems like CA will be still alive for a while. If not then it might be good opportunity to prepare some awesome update once it will start working again.
With hands you gotta be reeeallly slow. I also found that it's sometimes easier to draw fingers when you don't move pencil away from paper. Just with single line like in blind contour exercise.

@OmertA: Thanks man! I occasionally stop by your thread myself, you make wonderful sstuff!
@Farvus: hehe, Thanks so much for the reminder to slow it down man. I constantly forget that, especially when it comes to anatomy. About the quality-updates, well at the moment I have something bigger on the pipeline but I still like to post a bit of work every day. For me, a sketchbook (You're right, looked in the dictionnary, haha!) isn't a portfolio. I like to fail.
@ Grandmassa Mr. Spect: Hey! Awesome to see you returnin'!
