LP T-Shirt Contest results...

[Mr. Visions]

A couple weeks ago I posted the prototype of this final designs and got some really helpful critiques from you guys. Just recently the results for the Linkin Park contest where posted, and I got in the top twenty. Now, they just have to pick the top ten and then the band gets to pick the winning design. Thanks to everyone who critiqued it and hopefully soon I can update you guys about the final results.

I can feel some kind of energy behind it nice done

but i don`t think ti fits the band so well <_< ... NewMetal-recently-mixed-with-hipedihop-music just feels kind off different...i think it would fit more to bands like Static-X <_<

too cool for that band, but success is success, work is work etc. You neglected to flip the "N" for the lettering tho.

Does their bassist use a 5 string bass? Yours has five strings so I was wondering.
I love this piece. An extremely solid logo design. My crit is that the hands bythe mic are a little hard to see. I had to search the picture to find that detail and I think it that takes away from the image because it looks very cool the way the mic is floaing between his palms.

Thanks alot. The bass guitarists does have a five stringer. I counted when I was using him as reference. And yeah, the tat didn't come out the way I wanted it to, but, it happened that way. C'est la "piece".

I really like the design and execution of this here piece. Very cool, man. Three crits/ suggestions: (1)The hands in the center look a little weird, maybe it's the thumb on our right. (2)Lose the tattoo, it isn't necessary and isn't aesthetically pleasing. (3)I think it would be cool to add some white splatter effects to the circle around them to tie it to the "Linkin Park" logo. The face and style are great! Good luck with the contest...

The only problem that i see is when they want to print it on a black t-shirt.
When you look at the negative it doenst have to energetic feel.

oh man... when you glimpse at this design for a very brief moemnt you see a swastika! Other than that, pretty nice

Hey guys thanks alot. I wish I had awesome news, but I didn't win. Lohan asked if I could post the others. I didn't have a chance to post all of them, but this was the winning design. The contest said it was based on originality and creativity, but I guess this one took the cake.

I cant tell what a soldier with a flag and a couple of ambiguous blobs with hard edges have to do with linkin park.

If someone tells you that the winner of this kind of contest is based on anything but the judges' preference, laugh at them (after it's over). It's like when the girl breaks up with you and says it's not you it's her. Don't fool yourself; it's you.

I like yours better, too, and not just because you're a well-respected CA member, either. The winner's seems out of balance with poor use of negative space. Uziel's black t-shirt comment was valid, though.

I would rather buy your T-shirt if I had to choose. Its a shame how little artistic sense the judges had. You should of put arrows and paint marks on yours

Thanks alot guys. I definately laughed at the red vomit comment by Uziel. I'm not worried about it. I guess with contests like that they say they want something original and creatiive but really they want their old stuff to look original and creative. Only thing that got me was there are two band members that are artists. One of them which is one of the lead singers said that that one was his favorite and he didn't comment on any of the others, including mine. With the black t-shirt comment, I feathered the edges around all the splatters and the main design, but I could have designed it better. At first, I thought it was going on a gray shirt, so I designed it for such. I'm happy with the piece I did so it'll go in my portfolio. Thanks again for all the critiques and comments again. You guys are a bank of good stuff to read. I'm about to post some paintings I did so be sure to check those out, I wanna know what you guys think. Until then...

That was kind of sad, your desighn was not only creative but also depicted the band, in a way through the instruments and the music they play.

Also happened to be symetrical and cool looking.
