The land of Purgatory is one left to myth. It is said to be a vile place where heaven and hell keep a balance between one another. The forces of good and evil are left at bay. The temptress of this land of the undead, judges those brought to her from the afterlife. These once mortals stay rested, standing in silence awaiting a fate they have no control over. Their bodies lay peril and lifeless in form as the spirit tries to find a way to free itself from this torment. Those that grieve and pray eventually rise to the light above as doves. The temptress is the key to this balance in this unknown world. She is but a breathe away from heaven and a screech away from hell. Her spirit is like a pendulum, swaying from side to side trying to find an order and a peace between all that is living and all that is dead.
The hands of the Gods above cling to her and speak to her as do the devils below that grip her soul to an eternal damnation. She does not feel, but understands what role she was given. It leaves her this burden to judge those that sin and give them a second chance at redemption and damn those to hell for their choices in life. We are all masters and servants in our own right as humans. This land of Purgatory draws a picture of the balance of all, and foresees a challenge that we all judge and will be judged at the end. This land is not to far from how we live our lives today; we only see a pretty picture and forget to look closer at what is really happening to us all. A connection between Heaven and Hell is left with the in-between, “Purgatory is the last judgement”.
