If you're not a fan of horror--totally cool. Please just judge my work on the quality and not the subject matter.

www.imageshack.us has been my pic host since Novemember, not a single problem since, and very easy to use.

Browse for your pic, upload it, and copy the HTML tag in the forums text box to your Post Reply window here on CA, preview it until you get the hang of things, then submit!

Try and avoid doing thumbnails, takes much longer to read sketchbooks and people usually stray away from sketchbooks with thumbnails. Also, try not to exceed 800x800 pixels so that the dial-up users can load them in decent time.

I was a little nervous about posting as most of my illustrations are horror-oriented. The last thing that I want to do is to offend someone right off the bat!

I don't think that most people in these forums will be offended. I can't tell you how many decapitated heads ive seen around here. Well, at least you have a good name, Thomas Moran, a great artist. Nice crosshatch work. Gory pics are not really my cup of tea, but keep it up, and don't be afraid to try other things.

Oh gosh those are creepy stuffs. Disturbing, very disturbing, I'm going to have weird dreams tonight. Nice shadings. Are those inks?

Yeah, as I'm starting to poke around more, I'm seeing more and more nasty stuff (and some wonderful stuff at that).

Thanks, Masayasu. I have actually done portraits and non-genre illos but--you know what--they're not nearly as much fun for me. I actually just got back into art after a ten-year haitus and I'm really enjoying myself this time around. Plus, being a horror writer too, it's nice being able to illustrate my own stories.

Yes these are all pen and ink. The last one I "cheated" and used a little gray marker for the camoflage.

This one is a little less graphic. I colored the background gray using a simple fill but I'm not really happy with it. I may go back and change it.

Now that I'm looking at this, it could still use some work. It's for an upcoming issue of Wicked Karnival The guy in the lower left was added as an afterthought and I'm not quite pleased with him.

Thank man! To tell you the truth, it was drawn for a short story, but now that I look at it, I can certainly see some Evil Dead in it.

NOTE: This one was done for a story about the horrors of the holocaust. It is NOT an image promoting Nazis.

I wasn't real pleased with how this came out. Although the idea was sound, I felt as if I failed in the execution of it. The man in the chair sucks. His anatomy is way off, even for my more "cartoony" style. His face sucks as well. The perspective for a couple things is off as well.

This is a work-in-progress illustration for the newest issue of Wicked Karnival. I went through two other variations before settling on this idea. I'm stalled on it for the time being, which sucks as I need it completed by tomorrow.

Hey man! you got some really sick stuff here hehe, i like it, i like the style that you have to, makes the stuff even more scarier =) one thing you might need to work on (dont we all) is anatomy, some of the pics got some parts a bit of, but not to much, it still looks great! =)

Thanks so much, Gridur! Although I know that my style (and content) isn't for everyone, I'm glad that there are some horror fans here that appreciate it.

Yes, anatomy is something I'm currently working to improve. Originally a comic book artist, I'm trying to get away from the exaggerated bodies and proportions while focusing more on making things anatomically correct. Recently, I've used more models and spent time working on proportions. I'm trying to strike a balance by producing good anatomy while still keeping my style intact.

LOL. Well, Gridur, I'm going to say that she removed his "little head" before taking the big one. It maked the situation more horrific that way! Thanks for checking it out. I've already visited Ms. Sin again--what a hottie.

This is another illo. I did't have a lot of time to do it, so it's not quite what I wanted. My biggest problem with it is my shading makes the bridge of her nose look concave.

Nice zombie and devil creatures you got there, i like the wicked smile on the girl, got some crits on the zombie dude though, the brain seams to pop out a little bit to much, or to little, eather make it be inside some or make it pop out, like it wants to escape from his head, remember that the skull bone is a little bit thick hehe, or we would all be fucked up, droping our brains wildely on the streets, that would be fun though, lets all just reorganice the world so that can happen

Very well, you really got the eyes nicely done, they look exacly as drugy like you would wanna see in a zombie that chews on a nice and fresh human limb, keep it up, and remember to drop by and check out Sin, she got a nice skin color nowdays, in progress to get even finer =)

Hey dude! Thanks so much for checking up on my stuff (and double thanks for the crits).

I see exactly what you are talking about as far as the brain is concerned. I've added more thickness to the skull so it doesn't look eggshell thin. Hopefully I didn't paint myself too much in the corner by inking it too soon.

I'll be posting more soon, so I hope that you'll see the improvement.

I'm headed over to see Ms. Sin right now!
