DSG 731: Storybook Imagery: THE BOY WHO TRIED TO BE A BOT

Today's extremely late topic, because the bot's not working, and I fell asleep on accident (no it's not an excuse, but rather an explanation... I have to be awake at 3 a.m. to post the new topic in a fashion consistent with the dsgbot), is:

Storybook Imagery: THE BOY WHO TRIED TO BE A BOT

    (Sorry so late, peoples)

    Hello, folks !
First I drew to the subject: "Family Bear Birthday" (something like that !) but the subject have changed !
Anyway, it's done ! All C.G and an acrylic texture. Made within one hour and ten minutes... a bit slow ! See ya !
    Juju.
P.S: Happy birthday to you, William b. Hand !!!

ALDAY- Did you take photo of an acrylic texture and layer it on your cg (or vice versa)? Or is this a filter in your software?

Lol, radioactive building block. Didn't catch that the first time...

HAND- Thanks. Mostly markers, for a change. Oh, and happy bday!
i should be texturing right now.

    Dear Sleepychic,
i put a scanned texture when the C.G drawing was finished. No filter. I'm happy you noticed the nuclear block. I love that kind of silly joke... hum !
    See ya !

thanks! but to be honest, I was doing my taxes, feeling reamed, and the house DSL was down, leaving me with a modem. End result was a ten minute job inspired by sergio aragones.

WOW, I've been away from the DSG too long!! I didn't even know Hand was back, let alone heading up the DSG. It's great to see you around, and happy birthday! I'll try and start posting in here again.

    whoopee, I'm older

    So tired tonight. Rehh. *
... But, I wanted to comment even though I'm not posting:

First of all, Alday, Hamsta, Sleepychic, and Sapphire: Thank you so much for your birthday wishes! I dunno exactly how that caught anybody's attention in the first place, but it's kind of you folk to say.

vijil - Sorry about the switcheroo on the topic today... I'll bring back that original topic some other time. I was inspired by my inability to take the dsgbot's place. ( Still no response about what's the matter with it. I worry that about a month's-worth of topics may have been swept away ...oh well.)
    Mr north - Very cute!
Alday.J - Nice! Reminds one of the old Calvin and Hobbes comic. Great response to the topic.
nurokatt - Good wood-cut feeling to this one. Cool expression.
machzero - Sergio Aragones! Wow... is he still working? I remember him from a million years ago in the borders and nooks of MAD magazine. Your image does his influence proud.

I'm gonna go ahead and post the next topic a little early, because I'm drousy.

I know this is a bit late but I have been trying to work on it all day and paint is a pain in da tookus...so here you go, about 12 hours (this is only about 1/4th of the peice) in paint. The rest of the piece shows a robot boy waking up as though from a nightmare and outside his window you see the boy in this picture rampaging in downtown, only at night and stuff. Enjoy!

*man, I can not wait until I get my tablet and a computer able to run a decent art program.
Ask me if I'm a truck.
