beautiful sketches. love your work for the comic!
Goddamn, love the energy.
hey guys, busted out this really quick speed paint in about an hour or so.
I was going to make it into a full fledged painting complete with rendering, but I saved it at a super low image size by accident! I'll have to have a go at it later on and see what I can do.
I plan on making this part of like a fullscale battle or something at a later date, just messing around with colours and seeing what I like.
Kina: Thanks for the wonderful knowledge and critique, your words are now ingrained into my brain for the next set of badass trees I may draw one day!![]()
Burning Eyes: Hey man, anytime! Keep doing what your doing, and youll be better than anybody in no time.![]()
Taj: Hell yes bro do it! Im only buying paul popes batman year 100 issue 4, Im mainly going around to show the new portfolio off.
Lefran: Thanks yo! When I finish the rest of my comic portfolio im going to scan them all in and upload them to this site. Be sure to check them out!![]()
Asoir: hahaha Thanks man! Im very energetic in person too apparently, so I guess it shows in my artwork too.![]()

damn, this is great! that wreckingcrew stuff is awesome, especially the cover
good looking stuff Braden, You got a smokin deal, a drawing for a desk....you got off like a bandit.
I'm digging your latest digi, very cool, lots of energy and I like how your experimenting with some different color variations like we talked about.
You got my vote bro!
Just started this one tonight! Im already liking it a lot, which is probably a bad sign... LOL What does everyone think of the composition? keep in mind this is super rough stages, so everything is tweakable!![]()
Comments and critiques are greatly appreciated, and taken to heart!
Sodbrenner: Thanks man, I love drawing bikes, and hot women.![]()
Brall: Hell yeah i know! its a small ikea desk but it was practically free so im not complaining! Thanks man, what do you think about this latest one?

My initial thought is that there's stuff happening at the top with the ships, a strong horizontal divide, and the guys at the botton. Maybe try to link the top and bottom somehow so that the eye moves from one to the other? But my composition sense is not strong though, I'm always in too close.
great attitude with your sketches...confident and experimental. I really like the lifedrawing and just wanted to know what the average time you spend on a pose?

Latest update on the newest painting. Apparently im obsessed with the colour red, but my mind is drawing blanks on the colour of the powersuits. Yellow? Blue? anybody have any ideas?
Meatsworthy: I see what you are saying now, Composition is probably my weakest area. I think im going to re arrange the ships, and maybe hand positions or positions of people around so that the eye flows much better in the image. Thanks for critique mate!
Silvestri99: Marc Silvestri fan? Thanks for the compliment! I answered your question in your sketchbook, if you havent seen it already. If anyone else is wondering though, life drawings if not marked are usually 30, 20, 10, or 2 minute poses.

Great work man, been watching for a while but never had much to contribute...
You've been churning out some sweet work, especially love the recent paintings. Got a nice vibrant pallette, hope that in the future you'll transfer that into a comic form.
Colourwise you really do love the red pallette, try moving away and exploring more, its digital so its easy to do so. Those yellow accents work great, maybe even keeping them red but with a yellow lightsource (and blue bounce from the sky) would make em pop and be quite interesting. That gun thing on the left foreground guy's arm was hard to read at first, i'd consider slimming part of the design to make it less clunky. Also makes it look kinda clumsy to handle.
Heres latest progress, on digital, and some new sketches! Digital is about 3 hours in, im workin slow, and trying lots of ideas out.
The SirGreenSock: Thanks man, I wish I could crank em out like you though!I think the vibrancy is part of my style, were I to colour my comics, It'd certainly have the same feel and look as my paintings. The gun thing, is actually a Powerfist type deal, but I saw how it could be confused as like a megaman style gun. Hopefully the new version is much more readable!
Tried out a different colour on one of the suits, i think I like it, but only time can tell.

Yeah the powerfist is a lot more obvious now! The colour on the suits is very similar to the rest of the enviro, so they dont stand out as much. This would work (and probably be more harmonious than the original red) if you pop more contrast on the lighting and surface of the suits to make em stand out.
Stuff is lookin crazy but controlled! Like it.
Thanks for the kick up the jacksie!
mmm loving the orcs. and the last painting thing update you posted.. no crits or anything, just that i LOVE the sky and how it's so dark at the top and gets lighter as it goes down. it really makes it feel more like night time on a planet that has no real atmosphere, instead of just on any ol' planet. really nice.
oh and another thing. IM POSTING AT WORK! HAR HAR! amazing isnt it!
Im just going to continue to link from photobucket, because I've no clue how to make the attachments fullsize.
Anyways, latest progress on this little painting. I pumped up the contrast as per the Sir whose sock is coloured greens suggestion.
SirGreenSock: Tried doing as you suggested, might be too dark now, but I like where its heading.
Asoir: Thanks! No clue what you mean in your second sentence?
Kina: Hahaha the sky is nearly absent now, but itll make its way back into it, trust me!glad you like the fade though. And my orks, hell yes! CRUSH DA UMIES! OMFG NOT AT WORK! KINA YOU REBEL! im also incredibly jealous.

really good drawings, man!

Definitely a huge improvement I think, keep pushing it!
Don't forget to work the blues from the sky into the background too for some depth! Can't wait to see where you go with this one!
Hey! cool stuff, lotta energy. You definately use a bold-ass palette, but you work each color into the whole composition so it still ties together nicely. Well played!
That compo is looking pretty good now. The only think I can nitpick is that the figures in the corners draw a little too much attention. Maybe move them towards the center, or make the less saturated with less contrast and make the center figure that strong red instead. Just nitpicks though, so grain of salt.
haha OH EM GEE it's totally starcraft now! marines, firebats, and a battlecruiser!!!!
damn i gotta get out more.
Bust out the new portfolio man, i cant wait to see it.

WALA! comic portfolio 2006!
Still needs some minor tweaks here and there, mainly the radiator needs to be added to the bike on page 2 last panel, and completely finished on page 4 last panel.
So what does everyone think?
Arne S., Andy P: Thanks!
SirGreenSock: Yeah, progress has been put on hold while i finish up my comic portfolio for the convention this weekend, expect to see an update sometime in the near future though
Meatsworthy: Thanks for the critiques man, Ill consider your words, Im going to add some figures in the right on the buildings, hence why the dudes are pointing.![]()
Kina: Hey, you gave me an idea, im going to turn it into a starcraft themed piece, and enter it into blizzards contest! LOL everybody is doing WoW it seems, I think ill do starcrack.
Taj: Here ya go mate!![]()
