seth1 - Perhaps but as I said, these doodles are more for my own benefit - its the process that is important - not what is produced in the end

    Farvus - Cheers

    m00ftak - its a pastel brush

    Mengel -

    tou - thanks man!

libor - you're spot on mate and it is very self indulgent but everyone has to be from time to time

Ferg - Cool - cheers bud

koshime - I'd love to come along to a uk meetup - let me know when the next one is

    buzzz3d -

oishiiniku, Obi-one, shyamshriram, Rudeone, Summer Pudding, RasselTasse - Thanks guys!!!

Hey Andrew! I've noticed on your CHoW, the character's right leg is wonky and awkward. I think this is due to the angle of the pants not matching up with the angle of the leg itself, making it look like her knee is raised, and she has a SUPER long shinbone. The tangent where her left leg overlaps the back of her right leg doesn't help with this illusion, either overlap the legs a little more, or a little less and change the strange angle of the pants on the upper portion of her right leg and this problem should be solved. I hope you understand my horribly worded crit! great work and great colors/lighting!

ooh wow that lighting looks really cool, everything looks real shiny and smooth.
    Just a couple of crits:
the shape of the collar on the top of her jacket seems to not match the other side, even in this pose I dont think the symmetry would be distorted that much. Also I dont think the strap going across the middle of her jacket would be going sraight, especially since the shirt line below it is rounded and the collar of her shirt is rounded, that is unless its pulled really tight.

whatever, I probably dont know what im talking aboot. Amazing piece, keep up the fantastic work

AndrewLey - i prefer the loose sketch version too. i think whats bugging me about the tightly rendered one is the texture. dont know if it is, but it looks like all the texture is in the same direction and that makes it look a bit flat, or like somebody did a bad mapping job. it also has a lot of edges that are unnecessary hard while a lot of the shadow are too soft. that is my first read of it anyway.

i think you got an incredible book going here though man. love the different techniques and the broad /solid rendering skills you got. much respect.

Like the big guy like you I like the sketch for the bot more than the rendered version <> something about refinement that seems to freeze things to much for me at times

nice- the pose certainly looks a lot better on that full color CHOW. I really like the face on your new CHOW, hot! Great characteristic pose, clothing, and I love the shield. I'd like to see that sketch taken to the next level if you feel up to it! rock on
