nice work man, im a young artist myself and i know how daunting learning anatomy is, but once you know where everything goes and how it works you'll find it so useful and rewarding.

Thanks for the replies guys. Kr33p and Evil Sloth i know anatomy crucial. Im not quite ready to climb that mountain i need draw just draw for another week or two because i haven't in a while. Thanks a lot for the replies though i really appreciate it.
Like everyone else and their momma, I have to say that anatomy and life drawing are VERY important. Also, the only way to really learn anything is to study from life or reference, it's fun to draw from imagination (URGH! I need to do that more often myself! I have the opposite problem you have) but you should be doing at least just as many life studies as drawing from imagination at this point. Good work, don't give up, keep posting!

The grim reaper type inking looked the best to me. It had the most small details without losing perspective.
Nice lettering too..I can't write even normally!
Hey man! cool stuff, keep improving. I'm a young artist, too. But I haven't posted any of my work yet plus I'm not a digital person, I stick to a pencil, paper and the scanner *lol*... but I really like your work looks like you're heading somewhere to the top.!![]()
Thanks you sad punk i really appreciate it. I know i haven't posted in a while but i will this weekend...
Couldn't help but notice the guy with the M16 in one of the earlier posts, that's my kind of theme,![]()
Still improving, critiques welcome: My Sketchbook
Hehehe thanks sloburn. Ummmm for anyone who checks this thread out its pretty dam old but hopefully i can start a new one soon.
Hey will. I'm really gealous of some of your armour concepts. And the calligraphy works is really cool, probably very good for hand skills. A skill at something different like that can really make a concept that much more interesting. Keep observing the world for ideas for armour and weapons and stuff. Anything and everything can be inspiration. And anatomy would probably help a whole load for drawing armour. Your Hatching gives a cool grainy look to some of the knights, looks historical.
Why start a new sketchbook? It really interesting to see how you have an will go on to progress.
thank you for the comment but once again i reall yneed to update this soon but ugh junoir year hahaha football games ont he weekends and homework like a bitch during the week but i am taking comm art so il can proll yadd some stuff formt here but thanks again!
Old news?
Looks like everyone else has commented on where you can go with your drawing, so I guess I'll try to critique your color work. Your concept of color is very good, your colored letter work looks nice and the color choices work well together. On your less flat subjects though it looks like you are having trouble seperating hue and value, so your colored works have color but no form. I am not a great painter (in fact I avoided color like the plague until just a couple of years ago) but I do know a place where you might be able to get a little deeper into the mechanics of painting and color: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=53517
It's basically just a bunch of sub-professional CA members of various skill levels sharing knowledge and challenging each other. Idiot Apathy has put together some great little exercises and a lot of useful information about light/color. Check it out!
