I think you should do an initial sketch to make sure the proportions will be correct. although your proportions in this are fine apart from the huge hand.
-you should define the features more, things are looking a bit blurry around the edges,
-Also have a definite light source, mabey from below as the light saber will be casting light upwards.hope I helped
So far it's looking good. I like the texture for his skin and his arms are going in a good direction, I do get a sense of depth and volume from the way you have rendered them so far. The chest area at this point does look a little flat, but that's only because it's a work in progress. The last thing that bugs me is his expression, he seems to look a little too happy to be a sith. Maybe make him look a little angrier or grinning evily, so that he is happy, but still evil. But all in all it's looking good so far and I can't wait to see your progression on this character. After seeing the ep. 3 trailer, I've been hyped up for some Star Wars affiliated themes.![]()
Rebecca- Thank you, I did have an initial sketch but didn't post it.I should have thought more about the light source I shall remember that next time.
eXus- Thanks, I should have spent more time on the skin texture, but all it really is, is just contour lines and they work well. I will work on the chest. Hopefully the absence of eyes makes him look eviler. I'm excited for ep 3 too!![]()
I guess all I need to do now is add skin color and a background. I was thinking of letting him stay black and white, or atleast a pale yellow. As for the background I'm open to suggestions, otherwise I'll take a break and work on it much later. Here is an update:

AWWW WOW!! what an amazing improvement, I was wrong to critisise your work, cant wait to see the background!

Nice, he looks much eviler..(is that even a word???). I like what you did with the lightsaber and the reflected light on the body. The only thing that bugs me a bit now, and this is me nitpicking, has to do with the sash. The place where his right torso meets the sash doesn't seem to align correctly. Basically the sash seems to be a little narrow. I would suggest widening the sash a bit. I'm not sure if you get what i'm saying, but other then that little tiny detail, it looks good.
Yeah, In addition to what eXus is saying, male's hips are always in line with the armpits, in this pic it looks like they're narrower, and if you widen the hips you will have to widen the waist aswell, which will make the sash look wider, ya get me? Did I make sense? probably not.![]()
Rebecca- Yes, you are both right about the hips. I'll have to change that my next updateThanks again.
eXus- Thanks again, I think I made him even more evil. I'm still deciding between with or without eyes, here is one with some diff eyes, and the brow is angled more so as to be evilerer. I'll have to work on the hips, for now I matched the sash width to his hip width.
Last update of the day, have to relax and learn to play Stairway to Heaven.
