This is something I'm working on currently. His name is Kenneth, and he's a pirate. There's a long and drawn out story that goes along with this one, but I'll save it for the finished version.

Erm... if anyone would care to give some pointers on how I should approach the water (especially at the posts that hold up the peir, and on the bandana there) with Prismacolour pencils, that'd be great.

Another of Kenneth. It could definately stand to be re-inked, but I dislike inking my sketches with black, because it makes the transferring process a nightmare.

He also needs to be moved over to the right about five inches.

Well if you plan on doing it all in ink, then you need to create different values with cross hatching and what not to give it more depth. Right now the way it is makes it seem very flat. Also, control your lines more near the water, it looks like spaghetti around it or something right now. Slow down and draw clean circular lines around it, and don't go through the post.

These are just the initial ink sketches. I eventually transfer them to watercolour paper or bristol board (which ever happens to be cheaper at the student bookstore), and go full colour with pencil.

The only thing I could crit is that Kyles head seems a tad too big, but that might have been what you were shooting for, not sure.
