    Hey Everyone,

Things are looking good, I'm seeing some of the best work in the illustration activity so far. I'll be leaving comments on these in a couple of hours, so anyone who needs the time, you've got it. I also will be directing a film in the next couple of weeks, and might need someone to cover the activities. . .so if you think you're up for the challenge, drop me a pm.

Ok, Here we go with the first part. I'm just throwing out suggestions. . .take what you want and move on to the final work- it must be in color.

Panzermensh- take the critics to the raptors in the foreground, I'd also like to see the planes closer.

Dogfood- no comments, looks good. . .a cleaner sketch though would be easier to read, as it gets lost around the riders.

Dagreengo- great idea, very creative- not sure who well it covers the topic, I want to see it finished however, maybe if you incorporated more of the topic elements into it, either case- finish.

Ancient Kitten- nice, and you're right about the character at the bottem right and moving him closer.

Bojee- I like the idea of the second one more, although both work very well, but I'm not to sure about the composition. . .I would go with the flying.

coco- I'd place the dino a little further back, midground, and place elements in the foreground

dan1989- looks good, need to see better thumbs to give an opinion.

I hope to see great work in a week.

Were you thinking something more like this:

That middle bar (behind tank & rex, in front of mountains) are trees.

I made this up last night after lookin at my peice. It will change more, I'm thinking of reducing the T-Rex, pushing him back a bit further, maybe even have him crashing through the trees, adding in another tank, some soldiers, blah blah blah. This photo is also missing the birds/planes in the background. Oh and the sun has been moved down, for a more 'sunset' sky.

Rick- Simple color version of the first, I'll see about the second one.

RaneValderez- yeah, it will be ok, and if you pm your sketch to me I'll give you comments and such.

Bojee- looking good, keep in mind-only one finished piece a person. I'd still like to see the other one worked up however.

coco- you pretty much are going where I'd suggest based on your own comments, looking good.

Haha, going to need a slight extension on mine. I completely forgot, but I'm going to be out of town for over a week, without my computer. So no chance to finish this one on time. Crap.

I didn't come up with an actual title (though was contemplating Hairy Knuckled Tales, Scary, But Unlikely Stories, Prehistoric Kitchen Patrol, or some such). I got a lot of great help over in the Sketch/WiP thread, though, and would like to thank all those folks.

dogfood- Your piece turned out great, blows mine out of the water, one of the best pieces I've seen from you, it'd be fun to see you take it just a tad further cause this could be a great portfolio piece, you might be burnt out on it by now but maybe at a later date. One of the things I thought that might make it stronger was if you bumped up the values, talk is cheap so I decided to show you what I was talking about, I'm sure you could do a much better job yourself. Again smoking piece, inspires me to try harder next time.

HAH! Bojee, that's so cool! Man, one of my big problems is laying down real color. Even some of the more saturated bits on this one almost caused me pain, and you're right, it's pretty bland. Thanks, man!

Hello, I saw this recently and found it intresting so I decided to take part in this
Did this in painter, couple of hours probably, I did one thing that I shouldn't have done, I puzzled together a composition pic from refs and ... rougly traced I didn't use it to much, I only used it rougly at the beginning.
I kinda like the dinosaurs but the guys in the foreground suck
Well enough babbling here's the pic:

Skuli- nice pic, my major problem is composition- the two t-rexes at the top are where you lose it, they're cut off at the neck which is a bad idea to cut figures at major joints (neck, elbows, waist, wrists, etc.) so it looks like the heads have no bodies.

Carnifex-The time magazine cover is a great idea, very creative- you need to work on your rendering, very scribble like- I know you switched from your original idea and probably rushed, but practice pencil work from dark to light, would have helped a lot. Also, those guns bother me- it's ok to make straight lines.

dogfood- I love this image, it was great to see it develop. I agree with Bojee on the values issue but I think this is the best I've seen from you. Look forward to more.

Bojee- at first i wasn't sure about the style, felt real choppy and undefined- but to be honest the more i looked at them the more they grew on me. The enemy ace pic works for me more then the amazing stories- i'd like to see more refined character there, it's a little lost.

wow damnit! a few days ago i just read a twisted version of wonderland by someone and now you come up with this topic! the world's gone mad! everyone has a collective mind! great topic!

yeah i went in abit fast with the rendering, probably too fast for my own good.it's been pointed out by others already that i need to stretch the values and follow the form. thanx again.
oh yeah, and bout the guns: i never use a ruler,so that's perhaps the problem.

Anders89- you can use greyscale, pencil, ink, etc.

dCepT- you will be forgiven, and all will once be right in the universe again.

Carnifex- it's ok to use a ruler . . .rulers are our friends.

Just a note - you might want to add greyscale in the description. I, for one, was sure it wasn't on from that description. I should be able to whip something out for this one.

One more question, so that everything's nice and clear. New post so that my question doesn't get missed, since I posted last. Is this more of a concept piece ("character design"), or are these to be finished illustrations (funky poses, background, etc.)?

thanks for the comment Rick, I see that it fucks up the composition, two heads more detailed than anything else in there fucking it up they were originally thought as a ..part of a frame or sum like that, bad idea
