    Pastel Heads

    hi my name is salah and these are my first pastel drawings.its a lot of fun but but im learning that just like painting it can be very messy and frustrating.im just starting to really dive into color so any tips and crits would be greatly appreciated. thanks















    tried to copy a master vermeer painting




    these are just tone paper studies




    this is supposed to be me



    i dont look very happy

    great start at the pastels! looks like you could improve fast! there's only some minor problems in the drawings, proportion wise. I think i've seen u before at the AAU but I could be wrong though cuz I stopped my studies there...it sucks.

    yeah that was probably me, ive been going there for a few years now.these drawings are from my heads and hands2 class with James Wu (he's fricken awesome)

    oh yeah I heard his classes are pretty heavy, peeps always recommend him though.

    oh yeah I heard his classes are pretty heavy
    That'll be why they're highly recommended. Intensive classes always get better results than more laid back ones (unless you;re one of the few who can push themselves at that pace without someone telling them to)

    Salah: Very nice pastel work. Makes me want to pull out my old set and give them another try

    I like the purple hues in the first one! These are awesome pieces. I think you should do more female portraits.
