nice coloring, the only thing that bothered me was that he fades away to much on his right, i think it should be more clearer than is since that side isnt really far away.

yeah, I like the costume and feel of the piece. I agree w/ phlem117...some more clarity on the right side would really add to it...and in my oppinion the leg closest to the viewer...it's not so much that it's in shadow that is detracting...it's the blurriness...

    great job
That there is one damn fine coat you're wearing....

whoa, hawt stuff my friend. i really like that misty sorta look to him and the scene. the thing that most bothers me about this is the sword. it looks like a piece of cardboard with silver plating. :p
beef that thing up! keep up the good work.

Pimpin, a different direction than Marko took it, and it is good. The sword seems a bit flat near his thigh, though.

NICE!!! alot better than before, i really like the armor and the texture you have added there, it looks like its very strong and maby even heavy, its definitely the best part of the pic. the shade on the right side doesnt really disturb me, i think you wanted to bring out the right side of the body and the sword?
    good job.

I´m only nit-picking, cause this is an amazing artwork.
His hair should have a warmer tone...more to yellow-orange.

I also think you really should post this to
www.he-man.org´s Discussion Boards Fan-Art Section (people there might like it).

    Don't mean to be picky.
from the "H" on his chest the armour appers to be shorter, at least at the bottom,

awsome suit, If I had one I would wear it everywhere.

to take nothing away from the image but whats the point of wearing armor that leaves your abdomen exposed?

Im not bothered by the fading/blur and I disagree with the sword thing.. to me it reads as a thin metal blade..

Ken: he has abs of steel...no need for armor there..and besides, definition like that is intimidating/distracting to his apponents.

I kind of wish his left arm was doing something interesting, although changing anything on that side of the picture may lead to difficulties. I just think the stance looks a little noncommital.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, guys, it feels really good to get some solid feedback.

    phlem117:
Thanks man, like Fut said, I wanted the composition to showcase his one side only, so that it leaves some room for assumption as to the other side. I always enjoy leaving some abstraction in the piece so that it's not over-done and yet it shows elaborate detail at some places. If I kept going, maybe it would loose some energy.

    plsangel:
Thanks dude, ...as I said above...

    Odds:
Really? I thought the sword worked out pretty well. But hey it can always be better...thanks a lot.

    klinesmoker:
Yeah, to tell you the truth, I didn't like Marko's version at all...nothing "re-designed" about it, it felt sorta like a chewing gum. When his painting skills get to the point of his pencils, things will be great. I guess the sword should be flat, at least that's what I was going for...Thanks!

    FuT:
    Thanks, glad you liked it...

    Jukka:
Yeah, i could warm up the hair a bit...it's an easy fix. Thanks very much!
Thanks also for your suggestion to post it at he-man.org...I got a lotta love there.

    onionface:
That part I painted completely dark(as it is now)...so I didn't really pay too much attention to perfect perspective...but yeah...nice catch...thanks!

    KenDeathwalker:
Definately! Still...he is "HE-MAN" so he's gotta show some skin & style and also...attract the ladies(they seem to like six-packs, hehe). Good stuff...thanks!

    Sim:
You're right on, man, thanks for clearing it out for me and others.

    oICEMANo:
Thanks dude, glad you like the piece...

Really well done, I just wish he was looking at the viewer, it would really make the piece, for me anyway. Does that blue really work, though? Aren't He-Man's colors grey and red? - mh

It´s how you view the colours, as He-Man´s armour is sorta blue-gray-metallic coloured.

Here, the blue-gold theme works well, even though it somehow reminds me of "the New Adventures of He-Man".

What is this "New Adventures" I keep hearing about...I tried to look for some artwork but couldn't find any. I'd like to check it out. A few people said it reminds them of this.

New Adventures basically came out in the 90's i think and it tried to continue the story of He-Man where he was teleported to the future and it was set in space etc. It didn't really take off that well IMO. Your design has a futuristic feel to it I think and thats why people are making the link.

Man thats cool. Just when I thought He-Man was played out too. I think the design is fresh and very cool, and also keeps to the original feel, while giving it a newer look. I don't mind the dark and blurry portions either. Sweet! This piece made my day!

Man, I absolutely love the details on the armor and sword. It adds so much to the realism of the piece. As a crit, the left half of the figure (our right) seems to receed into the bg too sharply. My eye keeps searching for some minor definition in that area, but now that I think about it that may not help either. Ah well, the piece is pretty freakin' sweet as it is right now.

Thanks for posting those Jukka. Now I remember seeing the cartoons...did Skeletor have a sissy voice in those series? I found that really funny.
Yeah, I don't think there is resemblance whatsoever...but I know what you're saying Iceman.

Yeah, bg does seem a little too close, as if there is a wall right next to him with his cast shadow. Still, for composition's sake, I wanted dark, negative space on that side, to help bring out the other. Thanks!

Great job. IMO the only thing that need attention is the blade - it feels very 2D, no sense of depth too it and no sharp edge. Otherwise great anatomy work and the armor is very cool.
