Yeah, this is pretty old (or at least it feels like it.) From what I understand this was for a Frankenstein CGI movie a while back. It was supposed to be for ILM's entry into animated features. I think the funding fell out and parts were salvaged and turned into this.
Still, what's there kicks ass and is pretty impressive. For a two minute short, it's more animated than Hayden Christensen's last performance.

That short explains the name Industrial Light and Magic from what i understand.
Industrial - The tough bald guy that built the robot
Light - the mad scientist with the flame up his head
magic - the lil girl that gives a soul to the robot.
Without any of them it all falls apart.. thats what i think ILM meant with that.
