I have such a bad motivation, I simply must go over this barrier. Meanwhile I bought a wacom graphire 3, which is much fun, but I really don't know how to handle it right.
Maybe it is no bad idea to get into such a sb-group.

always remember dude: construction is everything. You're walking on the right path keep at it. Draw manymanymany anatomystudies to be able to understand how the human body moves. Build your figures up from cubes and stuff. Start with the skeleton and if you got it, move on to the muscles. Use a lot of refs and draw even more from life!
Just keep at it and draw draw draw!!

Hey, Flo. You are (as Gloominati said) very much on the right path here! Keep doing your anatomylessons, and you'll get there in no time! But don't let go of your imagination either, do stuff out of your head a lot as well, and incorporate the anatomystuff your studying into it.

The last self portrait is definately a step up for ya!

    Keep it up.

Loomis is good, you can also check out Bridgman - Constructive anatomy. Very good book on the basics! You can buy it off amazon.com for a few bucks.

this is a good start here. your focus on faces is good, though needs some help. do not neglect the head's relationship to the rest of the body. my advice is go buy some tracing paper and work over photographs...learn to block in your shapes over real images of people, then after many many repetitions, you can go to plain paper and have a better understanding of the facial relationships

emooe is a quite new user here on ca. He contact me via icq, and we decided to post some update. Didn't drew much, had much to learn. Hope I have more time now, and most of all i hope i have more motivation.
    just some ideas...

    more scribbles

    drawing for all it's worth

    much more scribbles.

    drawing for all it's worth

from ref. proportions aren't really correct.

    Hi flo, glad you updated.
The last girl is pretty nice. i like the idea.. i can picture a painting like it with the hair masking over andthe bottom portion white.

The studies are good to do , I have the Burne Hogarth books so I think they are good to do studies from, if you dont take them too literally.

    Keep updating man!

nice start over there, shows some talent. Try to draw lines at one time, instead of little hatches. you'll get a more solid, better looking result!
keep doing the studies and you'll be even better!!

thank you, it's nice to hear, that i am improving. Think I will work through Drawing for all it's worth. And doing more drawings from reference just to get proportions right.

hey man. scrolling down this thread, I can see that you're getting progressively better. I think it would help if you didn't concentrate so much on drawing the contour lines of the body. try to find the natural shapes of the body and build the form from there. ok, that's all. Art is not a hobby, it's a way of life. keep drawing! =)

I like the last drawing very much. It's ultimately intriguing. You caught the face expression very nicely. Would you like to work more on it. Would you like to take another list of paper and try colors? I hope she's all right after the crash.

Hey flo, Interesting work mate. Very graphic design-esque. Try doing some studies of different pictures of people, try to communicate them in as little lines as possible

I can't see anything but a lot of clips of a guy saying: "Externes Linken ist Nicht Erlaubt"...whatever that means. I'm guessing it means the link is broken...? Not working...? Whatever, could you fix please, so I can see? Thanks!

hey, thanks for passing by, i've got a really bad problem with my server. I try to get everything to photobucket. "externes linken nicht erlaubt" means that it's not allowed to link an extern picture. sry... try to fix it this evening.

it work, if you copy n' past the links.

Update: Server is online again, sketches soon to come (recieved some anatomy books from the libary.)

    Hey Flo,

You're showing a commitment to what you're doing and that's great. I'm going to be brutally honest with you. By drawing faces, I believe you are trying something that is far too advanced for you at this point. You lack in confidence and experience in your pencil and observational skills, which results in mediocre art.

My advice to you would be to draw simple things from life. I don't know if there's an art school in Salzburg, but I would highly recommend taking a class in fundamental drawing if the said school offers courses to non-enrolled students.

Keep pushing and you will succeed!

    Alex.

@Alex J Cunningham: i think thats exactly the thing what i'm doing wrong. But i think it's getting better each time i'm putting my lazy ass on a chair and just draw what i see. And that's a bit encouraging. So i will keep on reading through saveloomies, and through this book around me and hoping it will get better. And the more i draw, the more it's making fun. For example this clown before, it was simply great to draw....

Yes, there are drawing schools in salzburg, and i'm going to visit one.

And thank you for your openess. That's exacly what our society needs. And sorry for my poor english, but i understand each word, thanks to some great dictionarys

@emooe: just thank you, for your nice words and for the fish.

ok, more to come, more to come, more to come.
