    長い間ね!!

wow, what a weekend!!! it was hott and jam-packed with fun and adventure! so on saturday, i went clothes shopping with one of my friends here cause i needed clothes for work. ended up getting more than i had set out to (besides shoes, which i couldnt find ), but it was all needed stuff so its all good. then we went to a fishing store cause he was going fishing on sunday. after that, we hit up a computer store, and it was all over rom there. i guess i cant walk into a computer store and not buy anything. dangit! but, i ended up getting a wireless router for my house, so now im floating WiFi baby!!!! i was at least saved from buying another computer (they all just look so good with their shiny screens and all those flashing lights... ); a scanner is next on the list.
sunday was the sports festival at one of my schools, and it ended up raining. so they did it in the rain and we all got wet (even though we had tents and stuff), but it was a really fun time. afterwards i came home and worked on the "game 2" of The Playoffs with sajad, and took a break to work on a song with my boy...he likes the bass i put down for it, but i dunno; doesnt sit right with me. well, at least not as good as those on our first two projects. ah well...

www.speeddemosarchive.com <= reeeediculously nasty video game players...check it out

eku_11 - thx for stopping by the page, yo. you inspired me to start drawing a little tekkaman blade/teknoman again. and yeah, its definitely nice to find other people who know about it too. drop me a msg if you want to talk teknoman sometime, or even just for anything. have a good one dude.

tokidoki - yea dude, youre right...i do need to update more! its been a busy and relatively unproductive (drawing-wise) week, and i like to post when i have stuff to post, so i whipped some up. more "studies" as always. youre making really good progress in your thread; keep up the good work. and, YOU, keep on posting!

corky13 - hey dude, thanx for the kind words and encouragement. i find its easy to draw, but not necessarily to draw with some sort of purpose. im glad for the t-dome that i'm doing with sajad, cause i know i'd never do environments otherwise. you too; keep up with the drawing. you have some nice work in your sketchbook; keep pushing to get better!

My only advise for now that you should do more anatomy studies.

b-man - thx for stopping by here man. ive been by your thread since the last time i posted there, but ive been struck dumb by your skills, i didnt want to say anything stupid. or like, grunting noises and such (goo goo ga ga dang yo!). but yeah...if i can think of anything good and coherent to say, ill be sure to drop a line. more studies coming soon; i should probably resume where i left off in bridgman all those months ago...

if any of yall are fans of the one and only NES, i highly recommend checking out the Minibosses...great band, plays their own arrangements of the theme music from classic NES games. they rock!!! and im up waaaaaay past my bedtime...

    Hi man
the last inkdrawing is nice. It has a illustration kinda cleanness i like.
I love Peter Plys and Tigerdyr (those are the danish names - dunno the english one ) on the wall.
Two crits - hehe - the noncropping of the ceiling makes a lot of white noise,
and damn those kids are small. Maybe just a biig woman? I really like the two small lines showing the forms of her breasts - nicely done.

fellah - thanx about the ink. i really dont like finishing stuff in ink cause i dont feel im good at it. honestly, i get scared when i do, cause if i mess up, then the good pencils are ruined too. but this came out nicely, i think so i am happy with it. and yes, the children are supposed to be in nursery (2-4) so they should be that small.

so, youll have to wait around for some anatomy, cause this post definitely aint it...

    sorry folks.

b-man: thx, b-man! hope you got some new stuff for me when i visit...

entry for gringoloco's newly started T-dome Human challenge (my best sp to date, actually ...well, the right side only). 3 pictures that youve seen before, now with some color. 1 picture with full color. should i fully color them all? i like how they are now, but maybe they'd be better with all color. let me know.

Hi purb! I'm such a hypocrite, you've been posting and i have not :p You're studies are getting better I like your resturant guy, that must have been fun. I'm so shy when it comes to drawing in public. I agree with Fellah about those kids looking small. I think the size is right, but the proportions are what make them look too small. In general they could use some 'fattening' up. Your latest posts have children who are in proportion. Keep it up purb!

i think your proportions and variations need some work, you looked here http://www.beautyanalysis.com/mba_fa...bysex_page.htm
    helped me alot

apart from that your work is real clean, something which i really cant do at all, ts fun aswell and when you colour your work it really looks revitalising

looking forward to the next post, and the world turning

shinryu - thx for stoppin by man...i know its been kinda quiet over here lately; the world's been turnin a little slow as of late. glad you think the studies are good...still have a long way to go though. yep, i need lossa work on proportion...i don't usually think about it as im drawing, but i tend to like, draw the same generic model person-type-thingie all the time. i should switch it up a bit, ne? ill get on it.

today, tokidoki inspired me to do more and more anatomy studies. like, correctly. mostly, i just draw parts kinda here and there, not really focusing specifically on one part. case in point, lattimus muscles (and the whole upper torso and shoulder area really, armpit included) have been giving me problems lately. today, i realized that its cause i didn't have a good enough understanding of the ribcage to be able to position the lats correctly (cause the ribs were all outta whack). so, that made me realize that i really need to start from square one, skeleton and build my way up. so, ill be doing that. been working on something for a friend lately, and also going out more, having fun. did karaoke tonight, which was really fun. had dinner with the mayor this week. did handbell choir with the mayor's younger brother (who is about 45-50 or so), played waaaaay too much madden...drew some. so here's some of that.

(looking back on my older works, i really think it mostly sux. i guess that's a good thing, means that im getting better. i can't wait till this stuff turns to suckyness. )

of the previous two: the mayor drew the first for me...he makes kagura, or traditional japanese dance, masks...this is what they look like. the following one i drew of the mayor...the japanese word for mayor is very similar to that for butterfly, so i combined the two

    crits welcome. brits too.

ps. oh and yeah, that last pic is a wip...not yet finished.

    Yo, what up, p?
The last one is really cool dude -as you know i dig your arms, so this is pure eyecandy for me hehe. Really nice concept too, looking forward to seing it finish dude. Disliking your old stuff is a good sign - the drawing you do tomorrow should be your best etc etc, just means you pick up new knowlegde all the time.

your bridgman studies are amazing. work on those more man...they are the key. you need to take the principals you're learning there and reapply it in your own work...i recommend getting some cheap clay at the local dollar store and building bridgman studies for breaks...get to understand the form better in 3D...right now you've got the flow of the form, but i dont think you have the dimensionality totally under control yet. great progress...keep it coming

    Stuff

You know, I have some intuitive feeling that you would make a great animator. Having looked through those sketches, I know you have the 'it' on an animator.
I'm still always impressed by your hand drawings.
But with a lil bit of practice, I'm sure you can best Akira and actually have a plot that makes sense.

I agree with that, you work has a very animated/dynamic feel.. your improvement since you started this book is pretty dramatic!

xen, try the akira BOOKS, the story makes more sense, isn't abridged, and is VERY slick.

so, im gonna try to post every few days so that the updates increase, cause its been waaaaay too long between updates lately.

fellah - glad you dig, man. the digipainting is gonna take a while, i can see. ill put up 'in progress' shots. oh, and some more armz, some just for you.

tokidoki - theres a reason theyre all bald...theyre in a cult!!! just playin, but there's a reason; don't want to spoil the surprise, so you can watch as the pic develops.

heri - thx for stoppin by dude; yours aint so bad, either! 8)

apollo - wow dude, i know its a long way from Mount Olympus. are your arms tired? seriously, thx for comin. yep, i need to do a lot more studies. i actually started up doing bridgman stuff (theres some in this post), and yes i am in big need of depth. at this point, i think ive been always trying to use the simple shapes to define depth and perspective, i do need to start working rendering a lot more soon; ive been too lazy to ever really work on it much, and also cause i never really "got it", you know? but i really like the latest SP that i did with full rendering so theres hope...maybe ill do some stuff saturday.

xen - stac, thx. it really means a lot to me for you to say that. now i just gotta keep pushing and getting better everyday.

bsjoe - yo joe, thx for stoppin by. i think i might like to be an illustrator, or even specifically work on childrens' books. as for dynamics, thats mostly the comics influence. would be very hard to break, but then again i dont want to. i definitely feel like ive improved since i first posted. and to think, i was really hesitant to post any of my stuff at first. i think it goes to show what a really awesome community this is; yall made me feel at home. thank you CA.

    without further ado...

Actually he should be holding his pants up in the air and the crowd should all hav e dollar bills in their hands. sorry to add to the sillyness :p After reading Fellah's comments on the arms i had to go back and look; I agree, you do arms very well. Foreshortening on them is wonderful.

Disclaimer: This is not a real update, only a post. If this had been a real update, you would've been given instructions to wear the nearest lampshade and give me all of your cash. And you would've done it too. Again, this is only a post.

    edit: disco ball added.

yes, tokidoki, you guessed it. omedetou!

fellah - nah, he's got no feet...too sexy for 'em. 26 arms...you missed two.

    bsjoe -

tokidoki - thx. and, its ok to be silly here...i won't tell.
