    Lazy?! update(mar 18th)

    Since this is a random topic thread already, Ill throw this one in here as well... a few years ago two friends of mine&me decided to make a comic. so, while sitting around in my old pad drinkin wine & playing nintendo 64....we came up with Dante (k, the name isnt that original), who basically is a sort of Tintin, design wise, only 20 years older and with a crow that had its eyes sewn shut (and whos name is Merlot...whatever), instead of a dog. basically he's a package delivery "boy" in a post apocalyptic future (also not brilliantly original)....who by accident causes some ruckus!!! this comic turned out to be 72 pages long, and without a publisher or anyone who even read it....so a couple of days ago I had some time and decided it needs chapter illustrations (there is 3 chapters, each 24 pages).....so here it is chapter2....eventually 1 & 3 will be done.....blah

    and here some pages of the comic...we made mistakes, but it was a graet learning experience. I wouldnt miss it....especially coz of the fun we had!

    heres how it goes; Daniel Stieglitz/story, pencils.......Michael Meier/story, colors, lettering........me/story, finishes, inks

    page 1 page 33 page 40 page 41 page 44 page 45 page 51

    heres some stuph, just to prove (mainly to myself ) that I havent been too lazy. Just some random things I guess....

    This one was suppose to be for my folio, but I lost it somewhere in the process of painting....its over rendered, undynamic, and theres lots of things wrong with it...I dont think I'll finish it...hmm...wha-eva.

    cheers,

    NIC

    hey, nicholas.. these are great man!!! I really like that boy in the mask.. great character.. And that last one is awesome.. I could see how you wanted to go somewhere else with it but, it has somereally great feautres... I really like the way you rendered the right arm that muscle structure looks nice and the skull thats hanging by it also... The metal on the other arm looks great.. To bad you wont finish it anyways!
    Mainloop- man i must be dyslexic.. cuz i thought you asked how many people are on lsd

    That samurai would make a great toy. It's the same for some other characters i saw from you too.

    Oh, that's a good thing of course.

    Beautiful work. I like the coloring in the skin tones. It's very well done. I actually really like the 3rd one - I can't see the mistakes, but then my skills aren't that good

    thank you gals.

    @vigostar - thx dude, yeah, theres parts of the warrior that I like as well, but its way overdone, and sorta lost its freshness...maybe one day Ill go back into it

    @csteingart - thx!

    @Matt Dixon - thx dude, nice to hear from ya!

    @sevencrows - thx, actually I think it lost some realism in the overworked parts, I always feel when the painterly work is more dynamic/alive it adds to the realism....

    @LK -

    @duddlebug - thank you....Im glad you wrote this, I was trying to get some different characterization going on with these.

    @Ancient Kitten - heh, a toy?! Id buy it, even if I didnt do it....

    @Jack Frost - merci. glad you like.

    @thx. I dont think the last one is complete shite, but theres just too many things that bother me....

    @redehlert - lol, thanx dood. cheers.

    @I.was.ink - thanx ink. I dont know which comic you tried ordering, but some stories will come out as a collected album (I dont know the exact date, because I have yet to finish the last ones), but Ill keep you posted on that

    cheers,

    Though i like the girl, the rendering, her outfit and the attitude, i feel as if she's not strong in her pose. If you'd push her softly.. she'd fall over. Something about the knees and the position of the feet, that causes that.

    Also, the tattoo on her belly and the muscles seem a bit odd. It's distracting.

    Other than that... you're still awesome

    Wow, I really really like your stuff and your style. The girl is lookin reallly sweet. She really looks like she's gonna kick my ass, thank god she's just a figment of my imagination. The only crit I have of your stuff is that the heads are pretty large. (mostly just the Barbarian and the girl) BELIEVE ME, I of all people know how it is. I ALWAYS draw my heads to large, pretty much every time I do a drawing or painting. Seriously, I've caught so much flack for it. If you do head measure, I believe the second head down should only reach about her nipples where as in this painting it comes down to the bottom of her rib cage. Also she doesn't have much of a neck, I know she's tilting her head down, but it kinda goes from shoulders to head. With the two drawings below her, there's no real proportional problems because they're very stylized, and it actually helps them look more stylish. But with the girl she's painted pretty realistically, so it's a little more noticable. Anyway, I'm rambling. But your stuff is so nice that it would suck for anyone to be distracted by something like that. I hope ya understand what I mean. If not you can just hire some one to have me killed Take care man.

    Cookiedough, arrgh...you're right......

    JoBeSu,

    Capprotti, thx man. you're right about the heads. I sometimes screw that up.... , I knew something bothererd me about that, but its like a blindness what that is concerned, after a while, I cant tell anymore whether its too big or not....thanx for mentioning it, I fixed it. I hope its better!

    cheers,
