Ok, there has been a lot of discussion lately regarding how dumb the general public actually is, however.....check out this tree.

For those who have not been sentenced to Bakersfield for even the tiniest eternity, these poles are the tallest structures around and there are no trees for hundreds of miles (north to the seqouias, west to Hawaii, east to the Rockies and south to El Salvedor).
Maybe they're trying to attract condors...
Did you read the little story? It is a cellular phone tower disguised as a tree.Originally Posted by Floris Didden

It looks worse diguised as a tree, they should have kept it like it was. I think I remember seeing something like that on the Garden State Parkway or New Jersey Turnpike on the east coast. I was like wtf are those weird looking towers, then I figured out they were trying to make it look like a tree.
Here is another interesting "tree" cell phone tower
I've seen several of these fake trees around the Valley. I've been told that it's part of a on-going project to "beautify the appearance" of cellular towers throughout California.

Yeah, well, you know. Um, it's "art". Or something.
At least they're trying.

If everyone left the Valley, who would run all the amphetimine labs? It's not called the "speed capital of the world" for nothing.
Here in OC there's quite a few cell towers disguised as palm trees. I noticed the first one off the 5 nearly 10 years ago.
*shrug*
I don't really see anything wrong with the ones we have here. Of course, they're usually disguised near some real palm trees, and even when they're not, people in OC seem to love palm trees so they don't tend to stand out so much.

They just want to hide the fact that they're poisening the community. If I recall correctly...cell towers emit radiation. So i guess they just want the community eventually forget about it and stop complaining about it.
That's ok...I'm pretty sure my nads have already been sterlized. *pats the cell phone in his pocket*![]()
A cellular phone tower in Spain was moved from its location, across the street from a grade school, after an unusually high number of children started developing cancer (the source, Spanish news and my girlfriend, a native of Madrid, Spain, who was visiting family and heard all the commotion all over the news while there). While cellular phones themselves may not be a threat, those towers have been proven to be pretty potent when you are too close for too long.

There's a couple towers in my town like that.
In this semi-posh suburb, the residents apparently bitched and moaned that the thing was an eyesore, and demanded it be removed, despite being unable to use their precious cell phones.
Anyway, the tower, which was already amongst a bunch of pine trees was made to look like that one that bat linked to.
I think it's asinine.
And it's like 40 feet taller than any of the surrounding trees. And the trunk is turd brown.
