    Some Sketchbook Pro sketches

Thought I'd share this little excercise with you guys. I started learning "Sketchbook Pro" on a tablet PC, it sort of developed into an exploration of styles and some comic book concept work. I know these are a little tight, but that's the way I sketch, and the program lends itself well to tight work. They are 99% Sketchbook pro. I used PhotoShop a little for rescaling once in a while.

Just drew a collection of heads to learn the program. Some photo reference, some life, some memory. Not really happy with the style, but some fun practice.

I started to lock into a black and white style I was happy with. The main female face is a character for a comic I am doing, so I practiced that one a lot. I like the color test, but looks like the guy that does the GTA art.

Some more faces, photos, myself and relatives. I kind of like the simple color style of the brown haired guy. The full figure girl was for the Alias contest, she's a little odd in proportions, but I could not rescale her since that contest required 100% Sketchbook.

    Hope you enjoy.

Feel free to crit or comment.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm trying hard to develop and all digital comic book style. Glad people like it so far.

Most the sketches were anywhere from 20 minutes for the basic line work with shadows, and up to about 2 hours for like the colored one of the girl in the bikini. Since I was mainly just experimenting with the program the whole time, I wasn't necessarily conscious of the time spent. There were a lot of other heads and stuff that just got erased over when I didn't like them.

    Alias Sketchbook Pro.
    http://www.alias.com/eng/products-se...ee_trial.jhtml

For Tablet PC or those tablet's with screens, it's awsome. I found it kind of painful on a normal tablet. It's really set up for direct contact with the visual screen. Speed with the interface expects that you can see and click right on the item you want on the screen.

I like the line quality and feel it gives drawing. The whole interface is set up for speed without a keyboard. Layers are really nice. It lacks a decent Cut/Paste/Scale and mechanical line drawing. But if you want a good digital sketchbook with some extras it's great.

Man, I did not know such great things could be accomplished with Alias Sketchbook Pro. I know I can't do anything like that with it. Great stuff!
The grey and white sketches of that comic book girl are definitely my favorite. All of those sketches have very dramatic and moody lighting, which makes them fun to look at. Keep it up and keep posting!

wow! theses are amazing, i certainly love the drawing style. This is very inspirering. (and i just know that downloading the program wont make me any better! haha!) This is something i really need to do to practice faces in different angles.

The very last girl (with white hair and pink lips) is that "Sis"?
because it really looks like her...
