Hey all, this is my sketchbook. I'm gonna keep it updated, if it kills me.
I'm a junior in highschool, have been drawing since I could pick up a pencil, wanna be a contcept artist or animator, either one. (My dream is to be the next Miyazaki )
Anywho...here it is...my steaming pile of sketches. Please drop me your opinions, comments or helpful hints!

No, I haven't been shot in the but with an arrow, but I've been hit inthe head with a frizbee..if that counts. here's some more..

the comic page... its c00l detail is ok 2 i think.. it will look better if u add backgrounds in the 3 smaller pannels i think .. they look bit empty caus
much white ..u can also add just some criss cross hatching or some kinda of easy shading.. gives good effects

Hiya! Here's one I did today during History class.

Here is a centaur(dur).


...ya know, it's kind of hard to draw a centaur moving, cause the arms have to be doing something so it won't look akward. Usually, i just throw 'em a spear and a shield.

Dude, I love it, the only thing that bothers me is that all the centaurs i've seen have human heads, but hey whatever floats your boat man. And the horse/man thing on the random pencil creatures has way too big of a neck, head, and right arm(my right.

Yea, the centaur with a horse head is my own thing..haven't seen it done elsewhere! The neck is big. That's one of my older sketches too (my friend has most of my recent drawings, i gotta get em back! ) But yea, I took anatomy class this year for that reason..proportion is a tough thing to get sometimes. Thanx for your critique!

Here's another example of that..this is back when i did my centaurs way to skinny. They're more muscular now. I made them work out

This is a 3 year old sketch but it still has charm!

Hi Siobhan.
There are some nice things you have here (my favorite would have to be
the drawing of the centaur runing). My only advise to you would be to study
study study! Knowing you anatomy is the key to progression (you seem to
already know a good deal about horse anatomy. I also would suggest
drawing from life as often as possible... if u constantly draw, u will constantly
get better . Keep it up!!

Thanx Abra! Yea, I got this book Artist's guide to Animal Anatomy when I was real young that really helped me out. Very technical, perfect if you wanna draw fourlegged animals like a pro. But the human anatomy is where I'm just starting. That's why your sketchbook caught my eye! Thanx for the advice and I will take it!

Well, I got my desk, so now, I'm in the biz. Here's one I finished up today though I'll probably add more to it. Any Kenshin fan ought to recognize this guy. I am thinking about doing a little fan art (or "fnart" as I call it) comic about his background story...I just don't know if I have the time right now. But anyway, Saitou is fun to draw, so i drew him..thereyago. TTFN.

Ruroni Kenshin is the only anime I really like, mainly because it is set in a real time in history, not futuristic or having to do with robots, cards, or monsters. Lots of action, swords, gore and blood if you like that sort of thing^_^

And YEAH! for Gryphie and Draggie stuff! I specially like how you like your action-sketches, Nice guys and centaurs!

Oh and I think "observational drawing" is just drawing with existing references, like sitting in the nature and paint/draw what you see, also drawing Portraits etc. just everything with a model or reference... I must say I am not a really heavy observational drawer, I am more a comical/fantasy drawer.. but eh! Whatever you like!!
