First time sketch

I just found this site through my brother, just wanted to post some stuff, get a feel for the forums. Comments and crits welcome.

The ears & eyes are deinitely in need of some correction. As far as the hair, I'm not exactly sure where you're going with it.

It's a start that needs some more work. Keep cranking and let's see more.

I agree with what's been said. Also try varying the kind of line you use. You seem tentatively in between shading, hard line, value... if you make a clear decision the piece will be stronger. Right now, it seems like you haven't decided where the focus will be, since there are no real strong values, same with the kind of line, everything is a little fuzzy.

Try popping some hard darks in the eyes, and darken the hair, create some interesting edges using value and bring a little more focus to the piece.

You might "mess up" a lot when trying all this stuff, but the only way to figure out what works is to try everything.
