Marty: Like it, stylish design.
Samson: Nice as always. Esp. the latest.
Moket: No. 2 and 3 rock! Love the blurry feel.
Meats: Thanks. How long did the snow one take you? It looks planned, or is it just out-of-the-mind?
Uh. yeah.

Great painting Meatsworthy, and thanks for the background tip (didn't see it in hurry)
I did another one, looks like shit, it's so difficult.. Maybe I should do simple objects first or something like that.

Woke up this morning, found out my signature was gone..
good start, Coen. Try not using black but dark shades of the sky / surroundings color for shadows at first. Later you can add some of the local colors or other reflected colors onto it. Try also to pick background colors and paint next to the shapes to get the silhouettes reading, especially at the face. Here's an example... I hope you don't mind.
I very quickly redid the face a bit and changed the silhouette. Just an example for the silhouettes en face shapes.
great work everyone! :>
2,5h just fooling around

Thanks Marty666, I love overpaintings, very informative. These seem to be some very handy tips so that's much appreciated. Maybe I started with color way too early, it's always harder than it looks. Anyway, I will post new work soon, thanks!

samsonsreaper! cool stuff man, I'd like to see you try and use bigger brush, control your strokes a bit more... try for some brush economy... the effect will be much more conclusive... and you definently have the knowledge, just need to change how you think a bit... which can be very hard to do.. I'm trying to do the same.

Damn Mr. Blonde these paintings are awesome! Motivates me to do some, alltho it also makes me feel incompetent of reaching that level.. I can use a hug, and some skills please!

dang, moket.
Yaso- Sweet spaceship!
Samsonsreaper- As always, great stuff. I love that guy with the laser coming out of his eye.
Mr. Blonde- All around great pics.
My guide for the first one was a Chevy Suburban. The second one is a dragon/dinosaur based off a photo of a Palawan hornbill. The last is based of a photo of the Eden Project, which are huge artificial biomes in England. All of the source photos were found in National Geographic magazines.
