Samson: Jesus Christ, your SP's are killin' me. Don't know how you get such realistic colours without the image either looking flat or saturated to the point of fakeness, but whatever it is you're doing - keep doing it! Do you have a homepage or something with some finished works on?
Jabo: Really enjoying your work. Looks like you're using Painter (?), but your designs and strokes (particularly your strokes) are wonderful. Trying to work on my colour/strokes but I always end up spending too much time. Need to break out and work looser.
Feerik: Amazing precise brush work and a great style. More please.

Hi Artists
I have been coming here every day for quite a while now, and looking at all the new sketches that have been posted. Let me take the opportunity to say that the quality of work here is just stunning. I particularly love all the new updates from SampsonsReaper (I was following your Atlantis entry on cgsociety too).
Anyway, I was wondering how all you guys got started? Sorry if this is a common (and annoying question). Are there any instructional books / dvds on the market to help a newbie enter this kind of art?
I hope you can help me out, coz I can't wait to start trying it myself. I start an animation course at university this year too, and Im sure the skills will help me in that field too.
Thanks for your time, and sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. Congrats to all of your fantastic work!
Nick

space-sprayer: thanks manglad you like it!
well i started drawing since 6 and it has been rolling ever since, tips? well try study composition in movies, colors, try out conceptdesigns/environmentdesigns. I think there are some good ones that gnomon provide, they are pretty famous for the instructional dvds.
