Ok....crappy sketchage...but...I'd love advice on improving my sketching, and understanding of anatomy, because as a sculptor I'm just beginning to learn how to apply sketch studies to my work. If any sculptors out there have tips on sketching with sculpting in mind...or how to use concepts to improve sculpting, give! Also, I welcome constructive criticism.

Your animals have a good sense of form to them. You draw with a nice line as well. As for drawing to enhance sculpting, maybe if you got something in front of you, like a figurine or animal replica and drew it from different angles the exercise would help to see figures in more 3d terms and to understand form. And you should post some more drawings as well. Good Luck!

I agree with Bill, if you drew in 3D the four basic views of an object you could input your sketches more into your sculpting. The four views im thinking are front, back, top and either side. Your sketches are looking great btw!

Awesome creature designs! I would have to agree with Bill and Lee. Drawing from different angles would most likely help in sculpture. I know making little clay creatures helps me draw different angles. Great start, keep it up!

yes...definately...I've noticed I tend to draw things from a profile view, and very rarely from other angles. I'll try to get some more pics up soon, I think I have a few studies hanging around on my comp somewhere.
