) yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo ( all of the stuff I post here are just quick warm-ups using blender...I made the head in 4 hours and 6 hours with the sand whale...blender is really intuitive and the best way to make crazyass stuff is to make a base mesh of a form and then import it to zbrush, then add crazy details on the mesh.....I didnt use zbrush on the head, but I will soon....
btw: I wont abandon my sketchthread..Im just exploring possiblities...
pretty dope man, u seem to be grasping the 3d pretty quik, you should try out one of ur creatures when u feel ready.
Nathan Campbells 3 steps to drawing like a pro, 1. Sketch 2. shade. 3. highlights and ur done
i'm scared of the possibilities
Nice start. I can't wait to see your ZBrush stuff, it should truly be insane!
Wot the frick is it, it looks like u deffinatly know wot ur doin with that program but wot is it that u are creating, is it sme type of vagina?
Hey Rich good to see you're doing 3D
The approach you are doing right here gives me the impression you should try Z-Brush definitely. Travis probably can get you up to speed with that app, it is much more like sculpting... and looks like what you're doing atm.
For traditional 3D stuff you are using lots of polies or subD's i cant tellif you want to do it the way it's done in games etc it's probably easier to start with a few polies and work up, detialing it more so you don;t start with a million points to control.
Hope to see more dude keep it up!
Erik
Yeah. Blender 3D is definately one of the best modeling programs around and it's open source as well.
Put your hands in the air like you got the heat to your back

Insane visions in 3d. Please don`t! It will make my head explode!
(I love that vagina whale!)
If these are just things to practise, I can't wait to see that you have posted some of your real shizzle! The only bad thing about this link is that I'm going to be glued on to it as well as your other one...
Peace
Poke me and I'll puke!

hey servus Insane this is realy cool to start in 3d, but i think for >you< it is much easier
to start with z-Brush wich is a realy cool modelling prog where you can hybrid-
paint-model /
just check this out/ you will be able to download a full working trialversion here
if the evaluation expiered you just got to send an e-mail to them and you will get a new serial

this works like the Artisantool in Maya but here you are able to use
bidirectional Subdevisionsurfaces.
but the only limitation is this makes no sense without a tablou

the first one looks like a floating vagina.
Mort - Would you stick you willy in there?
Hey, cool to see some of the kickass traditional artists dipping their toes into digital 3d
This is a pretty good start especially just for messing around.
Check out these links for more information on how to keep meshes clean (this stuff is especially applicable for Zbrush stuff, since bad geometry in the "control mesh" will make for difficult sculpting in Zbrush)
Darren Pattenden's "Moff Tarkin" tutorial - http://home.comcast.net/~dpattenden/..._tut_model.htm
That and the page after it are very useful as to how to construct good control meshes for subdivision, and how the whole thing kinda works.
Bay Raitt also kinda pioneered the whole "edge loops" thing in modelling, he has some good info on his site, worth a browse around for more - here's what he outlines on muscular edge loops and stuff.
http://cube.phlatt.net/home/spiraloi...scle_loop.html
Probably seems a little heavy reading if you're just messing around, but trust me, it's really worth researching and looking into, probably even vital ... and I know that your traditional art is awesome so I think you will take to this stuff really quickly.
Good luck dude, can't wait to see some crazy Zbrush stuff!![]()
