Hi again. Here is a cover for Digital Creative Arts mag. The brief was really simple - they just said, 'draw your vision of winter'. It's also going to be in the 2005 Adobe calendar.
C&C more than welcome(prom, these smileys rule, haha).

Wow... What can we say but wow? I like the style, use of color and detail. Done very nicely. Well done.
The Face is GREAT!. I love it. I don't think the hands live up to the face though.
thanks for sharring!

Awesome as always, i kept an eye out for your work since the drifting thread.
You have a very distinct style, kudos.
For crits, her left hand (the one behind her back) looks a little odd, the palm and fingers might need some tweaking. Other then that i have no complaints. Keep up the good work!
You should submitt to Spectrum this year!
-JtJ
Looks damn good!
The clouds in the background could be a bit softer. They almost look like they are in front of a wall or something.
Other than that, its solid.
Keep up the good work.

Lovin' it, Gez.
I particularly like the colours you've chosen here - I'd have run screaming from so many warm tones in a winter scene, but you pull it off brilliantly. Juicy.
Great pallete there Gez. Love the reflection in the ice.

great job...especially on the colouring![]()
very cool stuff!!
Yep, new wallpaper![]()
...+1 exp
Beautiful piece of work Gez, lovley painterly style, a great palette and i love the figure in the background! Great Job.![]()
The depth you put into an image always amazes me- you put life and story into every little element, from the edges of the puddle in the foreground to those distant, towering clouds. The buddha smiles down on the scene serenely, while the Mini Custom dreams of nitro-injected mayhem. Nice ass in the reflection, btw! I'll bet that's you truckin' along the surf!![]()
oh man that is godlike.. the girl is real cute..
both the 2 characters are so dynamic and i like the detailed elemtns like the car, buhda, mountains, reflection, board, etc.. AMAZING

Great image, love the style and composition, that guy in the background doing whatever he does made me laught![]()
beautiful !!!!
Composition, feeling and design !
bravo !!!!
NOoooouuuuuuuuuu~ This piece is totally awesome but you made a fatal mistake! The reflection in the ice is a mirrored image. It is too far below the horizon to get away with just mirroring the image. It should be drawn from a different perspective all together, as though we're looking down a bit on the figure. I don't think it's too big of a deal to really affect the image, since it's such a small detail. Also I think the image in the reflection is too close to the figure. It doesn't look like there is enough room to fit the wood stump inside the reflection. Great colors. wish the sky had a little more depth to it though...I really like this one.
Gorgeous stuff. I saw this in smiths and recognised the style straight away. I agree with their choice of this as cover over the others featured. The best of the bunch, by some margin.![]()
Darren.
Edit: There is one small thing that bugs me.....the guy in the background looks like hes being, erm, impaled on that post!![]()
So good, so nice!!
So fresh!
I really like how well you mimmick Hyung Tae Kim's coloring style. It looks virtually the same. That is what you are trying to do right?
In any case the colors are well chosen and the rendering, composition and structure are very good.
Thanks for the comments dudes!
Joshua - Thanks man. I see what you mean about the hands. I kept em rough so she wouldn't stiffen up, but lost some anatomical correctness in the process. I think getting that fixed is just a matter of improving my drawing skillsAnd yeah, submitting to Spectrum is a great idea!
Shoe - Yeah good point about the clouds. I wasn't happy with them either.. shouldn't have used impasto on that part.
Needlelhead Puppet - thanks. It's all painter and photoshop.
chukw - thanks for the comment! Haha yes the loser in the bg might be me. I'd been reading Dragon Ball before drawing him, and there's a part where Goku is walking imitating an ape. That cracked me up, so I had to have him walking like that too...
Jove - thanks, really glad he made you laugh
one2hit - Yeah you're right, of course. I was considering doing it the proper way and redrawin and painting everything but I decided it wouldn't be worth the time spent (slightly rough deadline). Hopefully it still works..
dikiminster - thanks for getting the mag man! Yeah I noticed the unfortunate tangent with the post only when it was too late and he was already being pleasured by it..
Laelecetes - Haha, do you really like it or does it bother you? I don't consciously 'mimick' HTK's colours, but I love his style - and a lot of other Korean artists who come from the same school of colouring. I think I make the technique my own, but I understand what you're getting at..
Cheers all, beers are on me.
