Hey folks,
Here are a few sketches of modified mad max type of vehicles that I've been playing around with. Commentary/critiques are appreciated.

those are phenominal. i especially like the second one, as well as the one witha circular taillight arrangement...damn!
" 'You might want to sit down..this is going to feel unpleasantly like being drunk'
'Whats so bad about being drunk?'
'Ask a glass of water' "
Ever thought of jumping in with Monster Garage?
Awesome illustrations and concepts! Kudos!
i like the ww2 fighter plane car.
but if its mad max its to clean, if its not it looks great!!
Bad ass. The first definitely looks the toughest but they are all incredible!

Them's some dope concepts. There's also a simplification of certain elements- frameworks, mechanical elements- that seems kinda toylike, but for "sketches", these 'll do!That Mini is fukkin' bitchin', but I'd really like to see you take any of these to full render!
The shapes and lines look spot on and very solid. The colors look a little washed out or not quite solid enough. Fix that and these would be top notch.
Thanks for the feedback, guys!
satire, verithin, se7en--Thanks for the positive vibes, mucho appreciado.
Mort, I agree the WWII fighter concept looks like it
just came out of the detailing shop!--needs a cruddier texture map.
Scubasteve, The last one (blue) really got washed (contrast/saturation) out in transitioning to the net. The others didn't lose as much and were were fairly de saturated to begin with.
I guess I usually err on that side of the fence.
chukw, Yes, the intent of these was to be of sketch quality, but also I was aiming at the gaming rationale, and was concerned with poly count to some extent....I guess some of the forms could be simplified further if it were taken to the next iteration in that case. Did you do the truck in that amazing Blur short? I really dug that it was "based" around a late sixties F series!
I have been thinking how mad max/road warrior are kind of like westerns and was thinking these vehicles might follow more of a horse paradigm (not literally). I am also thinking of working up some creatures and characters in these, so its sort of like mad max meets aliens. (?!?!) Anyway, that's the pitch. Look for updates here, soon.
How about MadMax meets Aliens meets Death Race 2000...
I'd buy that game!
i lovwe the mini cooper
Cool stuff. I like the first 2 best, but there all great.
Here are a couple more based on contemporary truck and suv platforms+armament/war paint.
Ron, phlem117--Thankya for your support.
Verithin--Perhaps, though I haven't seen death race. My housemate in college was a fan and would always mention extra points for elderly or something like that. I'm thinking maybe aliens meets road warrior meets brazil...in that it would have socio-comedic elements, perhaps.

One is since cars are refective u get the sky refecting down alot on the car.
and the underpanels ie doors would at the most bottom reflect up the brown
let say of the earth same in the chrome wheels.
also some u could chop the roof lower it and widen the hood a bit
making it more dynamic then if u look closly at painting of cars they
stretch them or cheat to make them more beautiful.
lower the car on it wheel.
we have sketch art forum section here
Darell Bowman,
Thanks for the tips on reflectivity and proportion. You are right I was only thinking of local (faded) color on these. What is sketch art forum?
Here's one more that is more of the found object contraptioned school.Man those ellipses really get out of whack the more rendered the image.

Two additional images that are a bit more twisted vehicular "western" themed.
