Oh, hell yeah! Vovin and Theli were amazing. The other albums were good too, but those are my faves. When I heard the music, they were the first thing that popped into my head.

I feel bad for Christopher Lee. The guy seems to attach his name to anything vaguely celtic (I once went to a crappy riverdance knock off, and guess whose voice was recorded narration!), but he actually is a fair actor from what I've seen. Ah well... his career, I guess.

I love Rhapsody. I love all power metal I've heard so far. Symphony X is pretty nice and so is Nightwish if theyre still considered power metal.

I actually almost bought a rhapsody album. My fav song by them is Emerald Sword. I suggest you all listen to it. Like, now.

Don't forget Within Temptation...I've been listening to their new album for a week or so now. It's a great pop metal album...and by that I mean that it's really catchy and over-produced...just like power metal is supposed to be

While we're name-dropping power metal bands I might just as well mention Blind Guardian, Edguy, and Sonata Arctica too. But I'm not going to say a word about Stratovarius because I think they suck

    Nothing beats Dream Theater, though...

Secret of the Runes was really good, but the Draconian Trilogy will always hold a special place for me. Vovin is the one I first came across.

I was waiting in hopes of seeing Lee to toss up the devil horns and let out a death metal scream right before the song kicked in.

Awesome! Rhapsody is the funniest band ever, though I can't figure out if they're serious about it, or just pretending to be...

EDIT: Wait, hold on, I'm noticing a trend. Chuck, mate is digging up ancient musical threads so he can call them gay...

    Rhapsody
    Heavenly
    Kamelot
    Hammerfall
    Stratovarius

i can keep going such "great" music, i love it

As to whether it's "serious" or not. As far as I can tell theyre serious about the music itself (i.e. makin kickass tracks) but the rest of it (the "epic" portion) is kinda tongue in cheek.

All the best Metal bands out there sing of heroes and villains, epic battles in far off lands. And then include detailed maps of those lands in their CD case (loosely quoted from someone who got me into the whole genre)
