Dude can draw. Love the old school feel to the max. Not many people can really capture a style like they had back then and make it super appealing in this day and age.

Here are a couple more characters--

All the characters I've been drawing here are from this comic story I drew, Fight Junkies. These two teenagers are the main characters. All these color versions are so the colorist has an idea of what to do.

Fantastic. Your sense of story telling, pace, mood etc. is impecable. I'd love to see what your process is, and where/what/how did you learn to do sequentials that way? Also, is it possible for me to see the sequentials on your home page with words? I especially liked Fight Junkies, it was very well done.
I'm starting some sequentials myself, maybe you could give me some tips, any advice?

Can't wait to see more!

Hey Reilly, great stuff...but, a crit I've noticed- a lot of your facial proportions are very similar... so, even when the facial features are different shapes, the relationship of spacing/size to the face is the same, making your faces look alike. There are rules to the proportions of the idealized figure, but one thing I've noticed is that most people only vaguely fit these proportions, and that playing up the differences can really help you nail likeness & vary up your faces. Anyway, keep up the hard work, looking really good. Heard you're moving to NY! awesome man, good luck

Patternagainst-- That's a question I'm asked a lot. I've really got to get a stop watch and time myself so that I'll finaly be able to answer that question. Right now all I know is that it takes me a damn long time! Speed's something I've really got to work on.

Kinokuniya-- Thank you, man! Glad you're digging my junk! I'll scan in some thumbnails and stuff so that you can see what my process looks like. I'll check out your stuff too and see if I can give you any pointers.
I think there are only one or two comics on my homepage that actually have words and everything in them-- Just the Orath stuff.
Most of the stories I've drawn there were from other peoples' scripts and I didn't letter them, so I only uploaed the work that I did.

Mentler-- Thanks for the vote, man! There are so many excelent artists on this board that it's very difficult to stand out. Hopefully my work will warrent me more 5-star votes sooner or later!

Cotron-- Yeah, that's somthing I've noticed too and something that does kind of bug me some times because I want my characters to have unique and recognizable faces, but I still have enough trouble just drawing the same face properly over and over again that I haven't been able to put much effort into switching the features up. Heh heh, and then when I do decide to give people "unique" features I tend to do it across the board, for instance I'll say "oh, this guy needs a bigger chin and a pointy nose, and this guy needs a pointy nose and a bigger chin."
But anyway, I'll keep that in mind next time I'm drawing some character designs!
And how'd you hear I'm moving up north? I think I only told my dad and my grandma!

Blankslatejoe-- Thanks man, and yeah, hopefully the move to NY (New Jersey actually, but, you know, just a few miles of rush hour traffic away) will give me the kick in the ass I've been needing. Plus I know a bunch of people up there, so that'll be fun. God, I can't wait to be around some actual artists again!

And here's what I'm working on right now-- The colorist who was doing Fight Junkies dropped out on me, and the dead line for DWP is next week, so I figure I'll just try to color the damn think myself. I've never been too comfotable with color, but I'm gonna have to figure it out sooner or later.
So if any of you guys have any suggestions or tips to help me move it along, I'd really apreciate it.

Hey man, i'm liking this stuff. But for a crit - the last pic has a wierd color scheme. Its like i'm being distracted from the fighting scene because of the colors, you know? good stuff anyway.

Nice colorings Reilly, for tips I would say to try to build some more of the lighting situations into the colors...right now all of your colors are at the same middle value. When we see color, we're really seeing light...so think about where the lights ae and how intense you want them to be. You have indications of light and shadow, but I think you could push it more. And, white doesn't always make the best highlights, it tends to make things look plastic-y.

As far as knowing about how you're going to NY, I have my ways...... just ask mr. rollb82 about it.

God, it looks like I've barely done anything, but I swear I've been sitting in front of this computer all day!!
I feel like I might not be approaching this right. Maybe I should be using flatter colors or something? That might go faster too.

And Cody, if you're talking about the kid's jacket looking plastic-y, I sort of agree, but I don't think it's because of the use of white, I think it's just because there's a lot of contrast between the highlight and the rest of the jacket, and it looks sort of like a reflection. I know because it was worse when I first did it, but I dulled it down.
