Some neat studies!
Your portraits could use some work, try to get in there with more shading, if you overdo then go back in with an eraser. Keep posting!!
very nice bryan. Your form is perfect just gotta work on what yutani said.. that shadin needs some work. Make the values stand out a little better. And I can kind of tell that you may use your finger a lot for shading. Professionals use their fingers a lot but I feel that it should be used sparingly. If your not using your fingers then forget about what im sayin.
Thanks guys...
i'm in total agreement about the shading...making conscience efforts to get better...(heh, i did use my finger, will use sparingly)
sup bud!
good lookin stuff in here, i like that arm study alot![]()
you ready to throw down??!! i know i am![]()

I wont fail now
Show us some more, man. I like your style, but we can't crit you as well if we don't have many examples of your work...for all I know this could be a prime example of your work, or your really better(your really good tho, judging by these) than this shows.
Give us more!
Tell me, do you think I exist, or am I a figment of my own imagination?
Great stuff. I took a look at the eye page you did, and it looks like a good idea. I think I'll give it a go. I really like the arm study you did as well.

In your rendered sphere, the reflected light is brighter than the highlight where the light hits the top of the ball. The reflected light shouldn't have that almost pure white sharp highlight in it. Reflected light has soft edges and is lighter than the form and cast shadow, but never lighter than the highlight.

wow.. your studies are very precise. you've got a very nice and smooth line quality to your work![]()
Yo Bry!
You didn't show me anything at SF, so I had to come hunting yo sorry ass.
The Evil within drawing is really really good. Definitely captured that face really well. With the anatomy references, I'm guessing you're reading one of Burne Hogarth's books? They're really good, I recommend them to a lot of people. Even if you're not, the most important thing I think I've learned with studying from books is that you don't try and absorb absolutely everything in one of them, but read it quite briefly and take a few lessons from it that you remember really well. Then read other books (or online references) and the different advice from different people will help hammer you into a more unique shape than if you slavishly echo one person's work.
Anyway, all that aside, it was great hanging with you at SF. What I can remember of the party was pretty good![]()
