    My First Digital Paintings

Well, Here they are, ... my first, two digital paintings.

My rendition of King Arthur and A Death Dealer piece from an old sketch I had, (My apologizes to the great Frank Frazetta)

    I did them in Photoshop
    Hope you like,...

    Jeff

These are really very good- you could probably do to work at them for a bit longer at a higher resolution to get a bit more detail in, particularly on the second one. Keep it very much up; I'm off to look around your site now...

I really dig the loose brushstrokes. If you brought a few things into a focus, you'd have some really great pieces. Great so far!

In the interest of officially burying the hatchet and extending the olive branch, I want to chime in here. I think these are awesome, especially for your first attempt at digital. When operating in the digital/online world, there is a crispness to work produced digitally that often times gets lost in photographed pieces...this was the only point I was trying to make in one of your prior threads, and I did not mean to offend with the paintover. As I guess you've probably realized by now, that's simply a customary practice on this boards because everything is so geared toward critique and helping other artists to improve. That said, there's little room for improvement in your work itself...I thought the Wild Child image was outstanding, and these are superlative as well. Just from examining your style and looking at some of the stuff on your website, it's obvious that you're a big Frazetta fan, and seeing how I adore the man, it's no wonder I find your work so impressive. It's interesting though...you combine a very Frazetta-like painting and rendering style with a style of linework that is entirely your own--I don't want to call it "cartoony," but hopefully you'll understand what I'm getting at. Somehow the combination works out very nicely. Keep posting...no more paintovers, I promise
